With prices not being raised in over a decade, adjustments are needed to keep up with increasing costs so the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will increase some fees for hunting and fishing permits next year.

The price increases were given initial approval by the Missouri Conservation Commission at its May 23 meeting. As part of the rulemaking process, MDC asked for public comment on the changes during July. The Commission then considered input received and approved the increases during its Aug. 23 meeting.

The effective date will be Feb. 29, 2020, for these nonresident permit price increases:

Missouri Department of Conservation permit sales account for about 17 percent of the agency’s annual revenue and help fund numerous conservation efforts around the state.
