A Resource Drive held last Friday afternoon at Woods East, 701 E. Broadway, yielded 738 pounds of food for those in need in the community, according to Sedalia Salvation Army Office Manager Magen Hudson.

The food drive lasted 4 1/2 hours, she noted.

“We are busy sorting through donated food,” she said. “We are so proud and grateful for everyone’s effort to help those most in need. Ask us about hygiene items while you’re here, if in need. Thanks again to all who donated.”

On Tuesday, Hudson said “I would just like to also thank everyone who came out and donated whatever food, hygiene items, or making a financial donation. It all helps so much!”

The Salvation Army's Food Pantry, located at 1200 East Broadway, is open every Tuesday & Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Call (660) 826-1525.
