The 23rd ranked (tied) State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners cross country team wrapped up an historic season with a 21st place finish as a team with 549 points at the NJCAA Division II Cross Country Championships at Apalachee Regional Park on Saturday, November 11 in Tallahassee, Florida.

The 21st-place finish as a team is the best in program history.

Sophomore Nathan Gemechu finished 74th covering the 8K course in a time of 29:00.9 to lead SFCC. Sophomore Logan Shaw finished 91st with a time of 29:29.1. Freshman Ezeckual Freed finished 117th in a time of 30:47.0.

Sophomore Ty Lewis finished 132nd with a time of 31:13.6. Freshman Roman Ray finished 135th with a time of 31:21.3. Sophomore Juan Herrera finished 150th with a time of 32:01.2. Sophomore Ryan Smith finished 153rd with a time of 32:04.8.

"Our athletes went out and raced hard in tough Florida weather," said Roadrunners Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "It was hot and humid. Our team got out in the position that they needed to be in order to race successfully. We ran smart. The meet on Saturday was the culmination of consistent, hard work that our athletes put in since the start of the summer."
