The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners cross country team opened their 2022 campaign with a seventh-place finish at the Southwest Baptist University (SBU) Bearcat Invitational at the Bolivar City Municipal Golf Course in Bolivar on Friday, Sept. 2.

Sophomore Logan Shaw covered the 4-mile course in 22:33.3 to finished 42nd to lead SFCC. Sophomore Ty Lewis finished 46th with a time of 22:42.3. Sophomore Nathan Gemechu finished 52nd with a time of 23:01.4. Sophomore Ryan Smith finished 71st in a time of 23:58.1.

Freshman Ezeckual Freed finished 75th with a time of 24:16.6. Freshman Roman Ray finished 86th with a time of 25:54.2.

“Our coaching staff could not be more pleased with our results from SBU,” said Roadrunners Cross Country Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. “It was a fabulous way to start the season. Logan Shaw really set the tone for the day. The experience our team gained will be invaluable in two weeks when we go to Missouri Southern.”
