Well, the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival gets started today, with the headliner being Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros taking the main stage around 10 p.m.  Saturday is the big day, and the shows start around noon.  I'm looking forward to seeing the new King of the Roots Band and of course the man, the myth, the legend: The Reverend Al Green.

Yes, Mr. Green's music is as relevant today as it was 20 years ago, as evidenced by The Voice last Tuesday night.  The last singer of the evening did 'Lets Stay Together' and the place erupted.  Cee Lo said Al was his Godfather.  That's not true, but he can wish.

It's been 20 years since I've seen him and I am as excited today as I was then.  Thank you to everyone at the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival for providing Missouri with such great music.  They are such a pleasure to work with.  A lot of venues could learn a thing or two about how to run a show from them.

Thank You Betsy ..I'll see you all at the festival.
