S-C JROTC Drill Meet Now Set for March 23
The Smith-Cotton High School JROTC program has rescheduled its drill meet for March 23 at the high school.
The drill meet was originally scheduled for Feb. 16 but due to inclement weather that weekend, the event had to be postponed.
Sedalia 200 says the March 23 drill meet events start at 8:30 a.m. and end with the awards ceremony around 2:00 p.m.
Nine teams will be competing, and the event will include color guard, unarmed exhibition, armed exhibition and team inspection competitions. S-C JROTC Senior Army Instructor LTC (Ret.) Harry Cunningham said, “This is a great way for the community to see the different teams perform from different schools throughout Missouri and the surrounding states.”
Admission is free of charge, and concessions will be available.
Proceeds from concessions will help support Smith-Cotton JROTC. There also will be more than 80 silent auction items available for bidding, with winners announced during the awards ceremony.
