Smith-Cotton Wrestling took on Boonville and Tipton on Thursday, Jan. 11, for the Tigers’ Senior Night in which 16 seniors were recognized.

The night included personal and program milestones, too.

In a boys 175-pound matchup, S-C’s Keaton Belsha won by fall over Rhodes Leonard of Boonville in 1:22 for his 17th consecutive pinfall victory, which broke a 25-year-old record of most consecutive wins by fall. Belsha extended that record with another pin against Tipton later in the evening to go to 18-0 on the season, all by pins.

On the girls side, Tigers junior Jazlyn Smith-Freeman won at 120 pounds over Alivia Bottoms of Boonville 8-2 for her 100th career win.

Dayton Cochran and Koleman Fredrickson picked up wins on the JV boys side.

We even had two historic moments with Jazlyn getting her 100th career win and Keaton breaking an old S-C record on the night. We are super proud of all our kids!"
