The Sacred Heart Gremlins defeated Cole Camp Bluebirds on Friday night to win the 2020 Kaysinger Conference Tournament.

Senior John Ulbrich scored the lone goal of the night for a 1-0 Gremlin victory.

The Grems played an excellent first half, continually connecting passes and controlling possession. With 22 minutes left in the first half, Ulbrich hit a shot from five yards outside of the 18. The ball flew over the outstretched arms of the CC keeper and into the top left corner for an incredible goal.

The second half was a different style of game. Cole Camp continually threatened the Gremlin defense with long punts from the CC keeper. Senior goal keeper Dallin Chappell continually came off his line and was in complete control of his 18 yard box the entire night.

Seniors Lucas Martin, John Ulbrich, and Kobey Hill held down the middle, while Freshmen Traven Wheeler and Reuben Smith played with composure and maturity beyond their years on the outside.

The Gremlins improve their record to 9-4 (2-0 conference) with their seventh straight shutout. The Grems will get little rest though and have a quick turnaround for a regular season conference game against the Bluebirds on Tuesday night at Clover Dell Park.
