Sacred Heart Varsity Volleyball faced off in the second round of Class 1 District 13 Volleyball against Concordia at Sacred Heart School Tuesday evening, Oct. 27.

Sacred Heart won in five nail biting sets after losing the first two sets. The scores were 22-25, 23-25, 25-18, 26-24, and 15-12.

"The determination of the Sacred Heart Varsity, fueled by the support of the Junior Varsity team and fans made this an exciting night of volleyball. Our focus all season has been training our brains to think positive, be selfless, and play with heart. I think without a doubt we left the gym tonight a better team," commented head coach Marlo Siron.

"Everyone on the team played a vital role in our win, as they do each night we are in the gym competing," she concluded.

Sophomore Emma Siron led the team with 33 kills, 21 digs and had one ace. Junior Kiley Beykirch led the team with 34 assists, 15 kills and 9 digs. Defensive dynamo Senior Maria Mergen had 18 digs. Senior Hayden Altena had 9 digs and 5 kills. Sophomore Zoe Martin and Sophomore Mariana Restrepo had 9 digs as well.

Sacred Heart Varsity will play the number one seed Santa Fe Thursday night at 6 pm in the Championship Class 1 District 13 game hosted at Sacred Heart School.
