Sacred Heart High School Volleyball hosted Tipton Tuesday night, Oct. 20.

Sacred Heart Junior Varsity won in two sets 25-19 and 25-17.  Their record is now 5-1 in Conference.  And 6-5 overall.

The Sacred Heart Varsity beat Tipton in three sets 25-10; 25-20 and 25-15.  Stepping up tonight was sophomore Zoe Martin with three serving aces. SH has been forced to try new options on defense due to some illnesses, but staying solid for the Gremlins is senior Maria Mergen and junior Kiley Beykirch with nine defensive digs.

Freshman Sammy Altena gained confidence in the back row with nine defensive digs respectively.  Sophomore Emma Siron had 20 kills and a few blocks on the front row.   Sacred Heart is now 7-0 in Conference and 17-7-1 on the regular season.

This week will wrap up the Junior Varsity season.  They will play La Monte in a makeup game at La Monte Wednesday, Oct. 21 and then host Smithton at Sacred Heart on Thursday, Oct. 22.


 

The Sacred Heart Junior High Volleyball team hosted the Tipton Cardinals Tuesday night. They won both sets: first set 25-15, second set 25-22. This brings their overall record to 6-6-1 and conference record to 5-2-1.

“The girls worked hard and controlled the ball throughout both sets. Sophia Carney and Daniella Chinchilla brought in several points on their serves. Ava Stone had some great hits over the net, and Sophie Anderson worked hard to dig balls on the floor and out of the net. Overall, the girls played one of their best games of the season,” said the head coach.
