Sacred Heart & Otterville Girls' Basketball beat Kingsville 59-48 Tuesday night.

Sacred Heart used patience and intelligent passing to come out to a 21-13 first-quarter lead.

It was expanded to a 34-25 halftime lead.

SHO outscored Kingsville 16-5 in the 3rd quarter to go up 50-30.  Kingsville made a little run late, but SHO held on for the 11 point victory.

Kingsville's Laci Collens had a game-high score of 33 points.  SHO was led by Mariana Restepo with 15 pts.

Jenna Halter had 12, Kate Carney 9, Katie McKinney and Aubrey Oehrke had 8, followed by Emily Hesse with 7.

The next action for the SHO (Sacred Heart-Otterville) girls team will be Monday at the Pilot Grove Tournament scheduled for 6 p.m., against Sturgeon High.

And, Sacred Heart with Otterville overcame a shaky start to come out victorious Monday night at Otterville.

The Gremlins/Eagles overcame a 11-5 first quarter and a 17-8 mid-second quarter deficit to lead 25-22 at halftime.

The Grems/Eagles pushed the lead to 36-28 in the 4th quarter, only to see it evaporate to a 36-36 tie with three minutes to go.

Jenna Halter then hit a big three-pointer, followed by an Aubrey Oehrke goal on an assist from Katie McKinney and a Kate Carney breakaway layup on an assist from Emily Hesse.

McKinney led the team with 12 points, Mariana Restrepo and Halter scored 7 apiece, Carney had 6, Oehrke had 5, Hesse had 4, and Mary Butner rounded out the scoring with 2.  Marissa Heins had 14 for the Saints.
