For most of us Saturday mornings were a time that we hoped that we wouldn't be bothered by mom or dad. The chores could wait til later. It was time to settle in with our PJs on with a bowl of cereal to watch our favorite cartoons.

I know that cartoons have changed through the years so what was popular and favorites for me could be different for you. Saying that, cereal has changed through the years also so I imagine there's some different choices.

For me growing up as a kid it was Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote. Throw in the Jetsons along with the Banana Splits Comedy Hour and you pretty much had a two-three hour block of Saturday mornings taken care of.

Now as far as cereal goes, if I was lucky enough, I was able to convince my mom I needed the small boxes of cereal in a variety pack. (Usually six to eight boxes) Otherwise the choices were lesser than what you see on the grocery shelves today. Cap'n Crunch, Special K (Yes, Special K!) and Alpha Bits were probably my favorites. Sugar Smacks and Rice Krispies were also ones that would find itself in the mix, periodically.

I asked the question on the KIX 105.7 Facebook page, "You're sitting down as a kid with a bowl of cereal to watch Saturday Morning Cartoons. What kind of cereal are you eating?

Here's some of the answers I got...

Melissa M. - "Cinnamon Toast Crunch" or "Life"

Yvette A.N. - "Peanut butter Cap'n Crunch"

Amanda L. - "Cheerios or Life"

Amy G.G. - "Apple Jacks or Honey Combs"
