Being a health care worker is a tough job. There's always stress, sometimes sacrifice, and at times heat break. Yet, it's balanced by the satisfaction of helping people heal. Of being there when someone needs you. Of giving back. This past year COVID-19 has created one of the most challenging years for Sedalia area health care workers. The Sedalia Chamber of Commerce have created a way we can acknowledge our healthcare heroes and say thank you.

From the health care workers at Katy Trail Community Health and Bothwell helping administer coronavirus tests. To those health care workers trying to keep our older family members and friends safe at residential healthcare facilities. To those one the front lines treating those sick enough with COVID-19 they've wound up at the hospital. And even those people working at the Pettis County Health Center trying to manage the county's response to the virus. It's been an extremely challenging year.

You can say thank you to our area health care workers by putting a "Healthcare Heroes Thank You" sign in your yard. The project is being spear headed by the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce. And the signs are available for $20.00 at the Chamber office in the Katy depot, the Comfort Inn, and the office of the Sedalia Democrat.

$10.00 of the $20.00 will be used to purchase restaurant gift cards from Sedalia Chamber of Commerce restaurant members and donated back to local health care workers as a thank you.

For more information on this please contact the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce at 660-826-2222.
