SBA to Study Book of Habakkuk

The text for the summer Bible study at Sedalia Bible Academy (SBA) will be the old Testament book of Habakkuk.

The study group, which is nondenominational, free and open to the public, meets from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Thursdays at Booonslick Regional Library, 217 W. 3rd, Sedalia.

The downstairs meeting room is wheelchair accessible.

In three short chapters, prophet Habakkuk is recorded as protesting and lamenting about the rampant violence, injustice and lawlessness in the land.

He is painfully troubled that God would use a wicked nation to chastise His chosen people. The book of Habakkuk records the dialogue between an all-knowing, sovereign God and a pouting prophet, who eventually learns that no wickedness will go unpunished and that those who are reconciled to God will “live by faith,” a principle that is quoted and expounded in three New Testament passages.
