An Illinois man is the second person to be charged in connection with the alleged murder of a California man whose body was found in June 2018 in Miller County.

According to the Miller County Sheriff's Office, 25-year-old Tyler M. Kroll of Lisle, Illinois was taken into custody on March 7 in the Chicago area. Kroll is being held at the Miller County Detention Facility on $750,000 bond for first degree murder. A Chicago man, Joseph P. McKenna, was arrested in connection with the crime in September. The Miller County Sheriff says that a joint investigation between his office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control led to the discovery of additional information that resulted in Kroll's arrest.

The body of 34-year-old Tyler Worthington was discovered in a wooded area near Tuscumbia, Missouri on June 11, 2018. It was determined that Worthington had been shot to death and autopsy results classified Worthington's death as an apparent homicide.

According to The Springfield News-Leader, a search of Worthington's home in North San Juan, California led to the discovery of 500 pounds of processed marijuana, and several hundred marijuana plants. Worthington and McKenna were allegedly partners in a marijuana operation.
