Sedalia 200 Approves RevTrak Online Payment Method

The Sedalia 200 Board of Education met at Smith-Cotton High School on Monday night and approved an online payment option via RevTrak Inc.

According to information in the board packet, RevTrak charges a monthly fee of $29.95 and a transaction fee of 3.49%. The transaction fee would be passed on to the consumer as a convenience fee if they choose the RevTrak payment option. RevTrak could be used for lunch payment and purchases from the student store. It is a month-to-month agreement and can be cancelled at any time. Cash and check options will still be available for consumers wishing to use them.

Representatives from Sedalia 200 recently visited the RayPec School District to discuss how that district has used RevTrak. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Todd Fraley described the information gathered from RayPec as positive. Various other districts across the state us the RevTrak payment option and report positive results.

Fraley added that a select number of personnel that have students enrolled in the district, will pilot RevTrak for a approximately a month. This will give Sedalia 200 the opportunity to work out any issues that may arise.

Sedalia 200 said their goal is inform district parents, and hopefully begin offering the service district-wide during second semester.

New student representative Kali Butts was also introduced during Monday's meeting. Butts is a sophomore at Smith-Cotton and will act as a liaison between the student body and the board of education. The student rep position does not have board voting privileges.

The Sedalia School District Foundation thanked everyone in the district for the hard work that went into making S-C Homecoming activities a success, which included a parade, pancake breakfast and tailgating. It was noted the Tiger Tailgate had more people in attendance this year than any previous year.

In other action, the board approved MCE policy updates which are mandated by the state legislature.

Towards the end of the meeting, Superintendent Steve Triplett gave a brief update on the attendance report. For the month of October, Horace Mann Elementary has the best overall attendance in the district at nearly 96%.

Total district enrollment stands at 5,059 full-time students, which is slightly down from last year. In 2017, total student enrollment was cited at 5,170.
