The Sedalia Fire Department, as well as Sedalia Police and PCAD, responded to 235 South Prospect around 10:55 p.m. Friday night on a two-story structure fire.

According to a SFD spokesman, the house was unoccupied at the time, and there was heavy fire coming from the rear of the structure upon arrival. Electricity and gas were shut off from the building, he added.

A total of 14 firefighters battled the blaze, and the fire department cleared the scene around 3 a.m.

No one was hurt during the incident, the SFD said.

The state fire marshal was called to investigate the scene, the spokesman added. The exact cause of the blaze is undetermined at this time.
