Sedalia Hobby Lobby Raises Wages For 2022

So for many of us shopping this Christmas, we have seen a lot of Help Wanted signs in retail places.  Working retail is hard, and can be especially difficult during the holidays.  It can be rewarding if you are good at helping people.  But for many retail chains, I think there has been an issue in staffing their stores, because of the hourly wage not being enough to deal with the stress and long hours of the job.

Your Sedalia Hobby Lobby beginning in January 2022, will be raising it's starting wage for full time employment to $18.50 per hour.  A bump from the $15 it currently has.  This will be company wide.  The reason given is inflation.  And you still get Sundays off.

“We have a long track record of taking care of our employees,” says Hobby Lobby founder and CEO, David Green. “In 1998, we made the decision to close our stores on Sundays, and at 8:00 p.m. the rest of the week, to provide employees time for rest, family, and worship. We’ve also worked hard over the years to provide the best pay and benefits in retail, which has allowed us to attract and retain an outstanding group of associates to serve our devoted customers.”

This is a place known for arts and crafts, and it is a unique place to shop for items that you would not normally find in other places.  And if you have strong religious convictions, this is a company that supports that.  Having shopped in various locations throughout my life, it does seem like the people who work there are taken care of, your hours are not as demanding, and I for one like to not work on Sundays either.
