Henry County deputies arrested a Sedalia man in connection to a burglary that occurred in Windsor Monday morning.

According to a press release on the Henry County Sheriff's Department Facebook page, the incident occurred just before 8:00, when the store clerk heard the sound of breaking glass near the front of the store. The clerk then locked themself in the office until law enforcement could arrive.

As a deputy arrived at the store, a man had run from the building carrying a cash drawer and other items and was reportedly heading towards the Katy Trail. A witness to reported that they saw the man running down the Katy Trail, towards Calhoun.

The deputy spotted the man and he continued to run despite being told to stop. The deputy was eventually able to catch the subject. T

The man, identified as 39-year-old Farris A. Higginbotham, of Sedalia, was arrested for 1st Degree Burglary, Stealing, Resisting arrest by flight, and Property Damage. The press release states that Higginbotham is on supervised parole from the Department of Corrections, and a parole violation warrant was also issued.

Henry County deputies later returned to Dollar General and searched the property, but no one else was found, except the employee.

Higginbotham was taken to the Henry County Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
