UPDATE: Ms. O’Donnell has been located and is safe. She was located with a friend in another state. "We greatly appreciate all the tips and help with the investigation," Sedalia Police said in a statement released Friday just before 4 p.m..


 

On Nov. 30 at approximately 7 p.m., Sedalia Police took a report for a missing person that was reported missing from her residence in the 900 block of East 6th Street. The missing person, 69-year-old Melody Porter O’Donnell, was reportedly seen leaving her residence around 1 or 2 p.m.

During the course of the investigation, detectives found that O’Donnell is reportedly in the early stages of Alzheimer’s and it was determined that a Silver Alert be issued for her to ensure her safety.

Detectives are currently working leads to determine Ms. O’Donnell’s whereabouts. Any information regarding the whereabouts of O’Donnell should be reported to the Sedalia Police Department, Attn: Det Barrett 660-827-7823 Ext 1255 or to Pettis County Joint Communications: 660-826-8100.
