Early Thursday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle without a front license plate. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license status was suspended. David L. Jefferson, 28, of Jefferson City, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Jefferson was placed on a 24 hour hold pending felony charges of Driving While Suspended.


 

Monday morning, Officers responded to the American Inn, 1217 South Limit Avenue in reference to an assault. An Officer made contact with the victim, who stated that he was assaulted by a patron twice before calling 911. Officers located the suspect. Jared W. Sanders, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested for Assault in the 3rd Degree and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by PCAD.


 

Wednesday night, Officers responded to the lobby of the Police Department for a theft report. Audrey Abey reported she was at Housel Park in the 100 block of East Howard Street when her unlocked vehicle was entered and her wallet was stolen. The wallet was recovered, but some money and credit cards were missing. Abey wished to pursue charges.


 

Officers initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle with no front or rear license plate near East Broadway and South Engineer Wednesday night. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license status was suspended out of Florida. Kenneth Aleczander Sponder, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Police Department. Sponder was released with a city summons for Driving While Suspended.


 

Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for failing to use its turn signal near North Ohio and East Cooper Wednesday night. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license was suspended. Terrell Antwon Robinson, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Police Department. Robinson was issued a city summons for Driving While Suspended.


 

Wednesday evening, Officers took a report in the lobby of the Sedalia Police Department in regards to a missing juvenile from the New Haven facility in the 1900 block of South Ingram Avenue. The complainant stated the juvenile did not return home after school.


 

A business located a substance believed to be illegal in a company vehicle Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle is used for public transit, so it's unknown who the owner is or how long it had been inside the vehicle. The substance was seized and brought to the Police Station for destruction.


 

Late Wednesday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East 2nd Street and South Washington Avenue for an improper vehicle registration. Following an investigation, a single license plate was seized off of the suspect vehicle and will be returned to the Department of Revenue. No charges are being sought at this time.


 

On the afternoon of April 18th, Sedalia Police attempted to stop a motor vehicle with no registration displayed near the area of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue. The vehicle attempted to evade the Officer before stopping at West 14th and South Sneed Avenue, where the driver fled on foot. The driver ran about a half a block before being arrested by the Officer without incident. Austin Taylor Schoonover, 28, of Sedalia, was taken to the Pettis County Jail for processing. Schoonover was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a License, Resisting Arrest, and Careless Driving.


 

Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police had knowledge of an individual with an active arrest warrant out of Benton County in the 1800 block of East 14th Street. Officer responded, contacting the person in question, which resulted in an arrest without incident. Dakota W. Bradley, 28, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing on the warrant for felony Stealing and felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident (Property Damage exceeding $1,000). Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.


 

On the morning of April 21st, a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of East 3rd Street by Tim Holland. Holland reported several items were stolen, with an approximate value of $680.00. At the time of the report, there was no suspect information.
