Sedalia Police Reports For April 4, 2022

Late Sunday night, Officers made contact with a driver near the Casey's store, 1909 West Main Street after it was observed speeding. It was determined the driver was intoxicated after an investigation. The vehicle had four young children in it, two of which were not properly restrained. Katila Marie Pitts, 24, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Pitts was taken to the Sedalia Police Department and then the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Sedalia Police stopped a Jeep early Sunday morning in the area of East 9th Street and South Montgomery Avenue because it was failing to maintain its lane and not keeping on the right half of the roadway. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Michelle Lee Wansing, 49, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest. Wansing was taken to a hospital, then the Pettis County Jail. Wansing was booked in on a state felony charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Wansing was placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold pending release to a sober person.

Saturday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Osage Avenue to meet with Gregory Cole for a report of theft. When Officers arrived on scene, information was collected and a report was completed.

Officers stopped an SUV in the area of East 10th Street and South Montgomery Avenue Sunday morning for failing to maintain its lane and failing to keep to the right half of the roadway. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Patricia Carlos, 28, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest. Carlos was taken to the Police Department, processed, and then released with municipal charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Improper Lane Usage.

Sunday evening, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a silver Honda Accord due to the owner having an active warrant for their arrest. The stop took place in the area of West 3rd Street and South Grand Avenue. Officers made contact with the driver, and ran their information through Dispatch. Communications advised that the suspect had a warrant out of Pettis County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Possession of Marijuana. Bleasy Marisol Rodriguez, 33, of Sedalia, was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending a $300 cash only bond. A small amount of marijuana was recovered in a glass jar during the stop. It was placed into evidence for destruction.

Sedalia Police observed a suspect in the area of West 3rd Street and south Park Avenue Sunday afternoon. A computer check of the suspect's information revealed he had a warrant through Pettis County for Violation of an Order of Protection, as well as a Probation Violation warrant on original charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Contact was made with the suspect, and he was arrested. Christopher L. Ford, 46, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail with bond set at $1500 cash or surety.

Saturday afternoon, Officers responded to the State Fair Laundry, 1400 South Limit Avenue, for a subject check. The caller was concerned about a subject's behavior near the business, and did not believe that the subject should be driving. Officers made contact with the subject, and a consent search was done on their vehicle and their person. During the course of the search, Officers discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Rebecca S. Eidson, 59, of Stover, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Eidson was booked and released pending charges of Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Officers took a report in the lobby of the Police Department Friday afternoon in reference to a possible domestic assault involving a juvenile. The reporting party advised that they believed they had sustained internal injuries after a disturbance with their grandchild in the 2000 block of South Ohio Avenue. The caller did not wish to seek medical treatment at the time. A report was submitted to the juvenile office.

Saturday morning, Officers observed a vehicle travelling at 62 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of North Limit Avenue and Duke Drive. A check through Dispatch showed the driver had an active arrest warrant out of Nebraska. Jorge L. Aguado Blanco, 29, of California, was placed under arrest for Fugitive From Justice and transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing.

Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of West 16th Street Saturday morning for a report of an accident. While on scene, Officers noticed signs of intoxication on the driver of the vehicle. After investigation, Crystaline C. Dodson, 43, of Ionia was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Dodson was transported to the Sedalia Police Department for processing. Dodson was later released on city charges to a sober person.

Saturday night, Officers responded to the 900 block of East 4th Street for an accident report. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Roy W. Cox, who stated that someone had backed into his car. Information was collected and a report was completed.

Sunday night, a truck was stopped in the area of West 18th Street and South Grand Avenue for failure to maintain the right half of the roadway and improper lane usage. The driver had a Sedalia Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Building Code Violations. Michael Darnell Mack, 63, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $60 cash only bond.

Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of a physical domestic disturbance Sunday morning. Officers determined a physical altercation did occur between a suspect and a victim. Officers were able to determine a primary physical aggressor. Ashley N. Black, 30, of Sedalia, was taken into custody. Black was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held on a 24 hour hold while charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 2nd Degree are being requested.

Saturday night, Officers responded to the 1600 block of East 7th Street in reference to a physical disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke to two victims and several witnesses. They stated a male known to them had assaulted his mother, and then assaulted another male at the residence, along with damaging the male's truck. The suspect left the area on foot. As that investigation concluded, a subject in the 1000 block of East 5th Street called 911 and stated that a subject was banging on his front door. An Officer arrived on scene to find the subject was the same suspect from the previous disturbance on East 7th Street. The suspect began to walk away from the Officer, and ignored their commands. The suspect fled from the Officer on foot, but was apprehended a short time later. Anthony J. Skutnick Jr., 31, Homeless, was arrested on charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, Aggravated Assault in the 3rd Degree, felony Resisting Arrest, felony Escaping Custody Under Arrest, Property Damage in the 1st Degree, Property Damage in the 2nd Degree, Trespassing in the 1st Degree, and two counts of felony Assault in the 3rd Degree. Skutnick was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold.

Saturday morning, Officers responded to the area of South Beacon Avenue and West 20th Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the driver was evaluated by PCAD and the Sedalia Fire Department. The driver appeared to be intoxicated, and after field testing was taken into custody on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated. Katie L. Goodson, 21, of Sedalia, was transported to the SPD to be booked, fingerprinted, and released pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated.

Friday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign in the area of East 16th Street and South Engineer Avenue. A check through Dispatch showed the driver had an active Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Samuel David Woolery, 67, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on the warrant with a $147 cash only bond.

Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of Clarendon Road and Southwest Boulevard Friday night. A probable cause search of the vehicle located a small amount of marijuana, which was seized for destruction.

Friday afternoon, Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Kentucky Avenue in reference to a burglary that had occurred overnight. Stanley Potts reported approximately $160 worth of items were stolen out of a garage. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Station to make contact with a person who had questions about a possible warrant. When Officers arrived, they made contact with the suspect and checked his information with Dispatch. A short time later, Officers were informed the suspect had a felony warrant out of Pettis County for Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Stealing. Matthew W. Perkins, 33, of Cole Camp, was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Perkins was held pending the posting of a cash or surety bond of $7,500.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Station Saturday morning to make contact with a subject who found a cell phone on the street. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Kayla J. Consolver. Consolver stated she had found a cell phone on the street in the 1100 block of West Broadway Boulevard about a week prior. Consolver reported that she tried to find the owner, but was unsuccessful, so she brought the phone to the station. Officers placed the phone into evidence storage.

Early Saturday morning, Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue. Tracie L. Bellew, 41, of Kansas City, was arrested for six counts of Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Introducing a Controlled Substance Into a County Jail. Bellew was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Break Time store, 2801 West Broadway Boulevard Friday night for a report of a suspicious subject. Timothy L. Fuller, 46, of Kahoka, was arrested for a Clark County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. Fuller also had an active warrant out of Illinois, so charges of Fugitive From Justice were filed. Bond was set at $510 cash only on the Clark County warrant, while the Fugitive From Justice warrant carries a $10,000 cash or surety bond.

Friday afternoon, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a white Nissan Sentra for a traffic violation in the area of South Missouri Avenue and Wilkerson Street. Upon further investigation, the odor of marijuana was present. There was visible residue of marijuana inside the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and other vaping related paraphernalia was located. Both occupants were juveniles, and they were released to an adult on scene. The items located were seized and placed into evidence for destruction.

On the afternoon of March 31st, Officers responded to the 3000 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a three vehicle crash. Upon arrival, Officers learned that one of the vehicles involved had left the scene without providing information. The crash was investigated, and two individuals complained of minor injury. The vehicle that left has not been identified at this time.
