Early Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a violation of a court order. When Officers arrived, they spoke with the victim. She said the suspect was waiting for her to arrive, made contact with her, threatened her, and then left. The victim has an order of protection against the suspect. The suspect was unable to be located. A request for the charges of Harassment in the 1st Degree, Violation of an Order of Protection, and Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree has been filed against Jeffery Allen Buchanan, 35, of Sedalia.


 

Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Beacon Avenue Saturday evening for a report of indecent exposure. When Officers arrived, the suspect was interviewed, and a report was completed.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration near the intersection of South Osage Avenue and West 7th Street Sunday evening. The occupants of the vehicle were identified, and they consented to a search of their person and the vehicle. A passenger inside the vehicle was found to be in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Amanda Dawn Meyer, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on a 24 hour hold. State charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia are being requested against Meyer.


 

Early Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Casey's store, 3050 South Limit Avenue, in reference to a theft. When Officers arrived, they spoke with a store employee, Troy Alvin Bishop Sr. Bishop stated an unknown subject came into the store and stole two bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey, valued at $57.98 and ran away. No arrests have been made at this time.


 

Officers responded to the 100 block of Dundee Avenue Saturday night in reference to a medical call. The subject was reported to be not breathing. Upon arrival, it was discovered the subject was deceased. No foul play is suspected at this time.


 

Friday night, Officers observed a dark colored SUV travelling on South Limit Avenue with no headlights on. Officers caught up to the vehicle near Highway 65 and North Grand Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Hadley Sims, 44, of Marshall, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. Sims then refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood draw was conducted. Sims was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Tacos Delgado, 813 Thompson Boulevard Saturday night in reference to a disturbance. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Humberto Barbosa-Hernandez, who said he was assaulted by a suspect known to him. The suspect fled the scene and was not located. No arrests have been made at this time.


 

Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was failing to maintain its lane on West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Garrison Gray, 24, of Florence, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. Gray then provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be at 0.120. Gray was then issued a UTT with a court date and released to a sober driver pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Sedalia Police observed a white Nissan driving at an extremely high rate of speed on South State Fair Boulevard Saturday morning. The vehicle turned onto West Broadway Boulevard. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at West Broadway Boulevard and Griffith Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Anthony Rojas, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. Rojas then provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Rojas was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where was booked and placed on a 12 hour hold pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Friday evening, Officers responded to a past theft incident at the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. The suspect is unknown at this time.


 

Saturday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East 15th Street in reference to a theft. Officers spoke with Diana Ball, who stated that someone had stolen the central air conditioning unit from the residence. Ball valued the stolen unit at $2500. No arrests have been made at this time.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Phillips 66, 216 West Broadway Boulevard, for a reported trespassing incident Saturday morning. The suspect was located and identified. The suspect was found to be trespassed prior to this incident from the business. Brandon Scott Wells, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Police Department. Wells was then finger printed and released with a city summons for Trespassing.


 

Sunday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of trespassing. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the suspect, who had been trespassed from the store on Friday, August 12th. Sarita L. Leon, 60, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released for Trespassing.


 

Officers observed a black Mercury 4 door vehicle that was heading west on US Highway 50 Sunday afternoon. Officers saw the vehicle pull into the left hand turn lane to turn northbound on Kentucky Avenue. Officers observed the male driver, and the only occupant of the vehicle, turn north and then immediately turn into the Phillips 66 gas station, 216 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers soon discovered the driver had a suspended operator's status through the State of Missouri. Contact was made with the driver, Carl Smith, 40, of Sedalia, and he was issued a municipal citation for Driving While Suspended.


 

Sunday afternoon, Officers conducted an investigative stop near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue. The driver was arrested for a seven year old Benton County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failure to Wear a Seatbelt. Amanda K. Pfannenstiel, 39, of Sedalia, was transported to the Benton County Line, then transferred to a Benton County Deputy. Pfannenstiel was also issued citations for No Proof of Insurance and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to contact a subject about a missing person Sunday morning. Officers made contact with Nicole M. Merriman, who stated that one of the residents that live in the 3000 block of Brooking Park Avenue went missing from a church in Sedalia. Information was gathered, and the subject was entered as a missing person.


 

Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the PetSmart store, 4311 Wisconsin Avenue, for a report of found property. Officers met with the manager, Jeremy Don Thayer. Thayer stated a wallet was left in the store sometime in the last few days. The wallet contained multiple banking cards for different subjects as well as fake currency. The wallet was placed into found property.


 

Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Emergency Room, 601 East 14th Street, in reference to a drug offense. One of the patients was in possession of illegal drugs. The drugs were seized for destruction.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of West 4th Street in reference to a theft report Saturday evening. Carrie Hardy reported someone got into her vehicle and stole prescription medication out of her purse on Saturday morning. The estimated cost to replace the medication is approximately $50.


 

Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to an incident of property damage and a protection order report. The victim said the respondent in the protection order was texting her, and the next morning the back window of another resident's vehicle was broken out.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers responded to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of theft. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the asset protection employee. They stated that there was a male subject inside the store they had on camera taking items the previous day. Officers made contact with the suspect, and it was found he had been previously trespassed from Wal Mart. Mark A. Brookfelt, 28, of Tipton, was was placed under arrest for Trespassing in the 1st Degree as well as the Burglary in the 1st Degree from the previous incident.


 

Saturday morning, Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West 17th Street and South Harrison Avenue. Earnest L. Brown, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked, Failure to Comply With Ignition Interlock Requirements, No Proof of Insurance, a Pettis County warrant for felony Driving While Revoked, and a Johnson County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Tampering and two counts of Shoplifting. Total bond for Brown was set at $4,050 cash or surety.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Limit Avenue and West 16th Street Saturday afternoon. James Lopez Wright Bennett Sr., 43, of Sedalia, was discovered to have a suspended license and was arrested. Bennett was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released pending charges of Driving While Suspended.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West 3rd Street in reference to a lost driver's license report. Swanetta Marshall stated she lost her Missouri driver's license. The incident was documented using a general information report.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Westwood Avenue for a report of found property. Upon arrival, Officers met with Mallory Jo Walz. Walz stated she found a bank card in the parking lot. Contact was made with the property owner and the card was destroyed.


 

On the afternoon of August 9th, Officers responded to the 400 block of East 13th Street for a report of theft. Contact was made with Noah James Mitchell, who reported that several items were stolen from his house while he was not at home.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 500 block of East 5th Street last Tuesday afternoon in reference to a property damage report. James Muin reported that while he was at work, someone broke the driver's side mirror off of his vehicle. The damage was estimated at $35.00.


 

On the evening of July 30th, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a reported theft incident. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the asset protection employee. They informed Officers that two subjects were placing items in bags without properly scanning them. They clarified that this has been happening on multiple occasions involving the same suspects. The suspects were trespassed from the store. The AP employee began the process of acquiring all evidence and video of the suspects. On August 12th, the employee turned in all possible evidence of the suspects stealing. The suspects were identified, and the charge of felony theft for both suspects is being requested and sent to the Pettis County Prosecutor.


 

Early Saturday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of South Engineer Avenue and East 4th Street. A passenger inside the vehicle was found to have a city Failure to Appear warrant from Higginsville on original charges of Possession of Marijuana. Jose Luis Gonzalez Romero, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in with a $250 cash only bond.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration in the 100 block of Pacific Street Friday night. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle, and their information was gathered. Adonis J. Mason, 26, of Sedalia (the driver), was found to have a suspended driver's license. The passenger, Jessica Renee Jones, 33, of Sedalia, was found to have a warrant for their arrest out of Pettis County for felony Property Damage in the 1st Degree. Jones was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, with bond set at $3500 cash or surety. Mason was issued a summons and released from the scene.


 

On the afternoon of August 9th, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft report. The reporting party stated her ex-boyfriend's vehicle was impounded several months ago and his cell phone was left inside the vehicle. The reporting party purchased the cell phone for the ex-boyfriend. While the vehicle was impounded, the ex-boyfriend released the property in the truck to his child's mother. The child's mother collected the belongings, to include the cell phone. This cell phone was then stolen from her vehicle in Kansas City. The reporting party wanted to press charges against her ex-boyfriend's child's mother for theft. This is a civil issue and Officers will not be applying for charges.


 

Friday morning, Officers spoke with Mark Farrelly in the Police Department lobby. Farrelly stated that he was recently pulled over by an Officer, and at that time, was made aware that he was missing his front license plate. Farrelly did not know if the plate was stolen or fell off.


 

Sedalia Police were on patrol Friday morning in the 1700 block of East 7th Street when they observed a vehicle parked along the curb that had a shattered rear window. Contact was made with the vehicle owner, Lisa A. Phillips. Phillips stated that the previous night, the window was not damaged. Phillips did not know of anyone she suspected of damaging the window. There was also nothing noticeable missing from the vehicle. Looking in and around the vehicle, Officers did not locate anything that appeared to have been used to cause the damage. The damage to the window is valued at approximately $400. Photos of the damage and scene were taken.
