Sedalia Police Reports For August 20, 2021

Early Friday morning, Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of South Park Avenue and West 3rd Street for speeding and failing to stop at a stop sign. The suspect vehicle did not stop for Officers and fled. The incident is still under investigation.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to East 13th Street and South Ingram Avenue Thursday morning for a report of a stabbing. The victim was located and transported to the Bothwell Regional Hospital. The suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

On the evening of July 2nd, Officers responded to the Missouri Health and Wellness Dispensary, 1801 South Limit Avenue, for a report of a drug offense. When Officers arrived, a manager on scene provided the item that was located on the floor. The item was placed and collected into evidence.

Thursday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Police Department to take a report of an ongoing theft from the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. The investigation is ongoing.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 16th Street and South Ingram Avenue Friday morning. Contraband was found in the car, which was seized and will be destroyed. The suspects were released from the scene. No charges are being requested.

On the evening of August 13th, Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Tammi Ann Jones, who said her boyfriend waved a knife at her and tried to stab her. The suspect was unable to be located. No arrests have been made at this time.

Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car near West 16th Street and McDonalds Avenue Thursday morning for expired registration. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license status was suspended out of Missouri. Eric Daniel Luetjen, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested. A consent search of the car found a marijuana pipe. The pipe was seized for destruction and no charges were sought. Luetjen was transported to the Police Department and released with a city ticket for Driving While Suspended.

Thursday afternoon, an Officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of South Missouri Avenue in reference to a theft report. Jennifer Stout said her bicycle was stolen on June 21st from the 600 block of West 15th Street. Stout said the bicycle was worth approximately $300.

Thursday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car near West Broadway Boulevard and Winchester Avenue for expired registration and a defective brake light. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license status was revoked out of Missouri. Jordan S. Mosley, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Police Department. Mosley was issued a city ticket for Driving While Revoked.

Sedalia Police observed a person that was known to have a warrant Thursday morning. The person was asked to stop walking and aid in a warrant check. The warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Property Damage was confirmed. Bruce A. Gullett, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Gullet was given a court date and was released of his own recognizance.
