Tuesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Sedalia Police Department lobby in reference to a property damage report. The damage occurred in the 900 block of Normandy Road, which is the Diamond B Mini Storage. Melanie F. Turner reported that sometime between the evening of August 1st and the afternoon of August 3rd, someone cut the locks to her two storage units. Turner does not know if any of the items have been stolen yet, because the storage company placed their own locks on the units.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Quincy Avenue Tuesday evening for a call of an animal running at large. Contact was made with two neighbors and a summons for Animal Running at Large was issued to Daniel Ray Smith, 22, of Sedalia with a court date.


 

Tuesday evening, Chris Galloway found a window on his garage open in the 900 block of South Porter Avenue. As he was investigating the open window, he observed a male subject unfamiliar to him look into the garage from the outside. The unknown male quickly fled the scene. It was later determined someone had also entered an unlocked vehicle parked at the residence and stole an unknown amount of change.


 

Officers responded to the 700 block of East 4th Street for a theft report Tuesday morning. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Carol Ann Miller, who stated that several items were taken from her vehicle. There is a suspect at the time of the report.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officer spoke with Lu Ann Hammersland at the Police Headquarters in reference to found property. Hammersland stated she had been cleaning out boxes she got at an auction, and came across a wallet that should not have been in the box. Contact could not be made with the owner. The wallet was placed into evidence for safekeeping.


 

Sedalia Police made contact with subject in a green Ford Bronco in the parking lot of Family Pawn, 2805 West Broadway Boulevard Tuesday afternoon. Officers ran the suspect's information through Dispatch, showing a felony Failure to Appear warrant out of Johnson County on original charges of Tampering With a Motor Vehicle. Tony Lee Lawson, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with bond set at $15,000 cash only.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of trespassing. Officers were informed that the subject in the store was issued a trespass warning on July 27th. When Officers arrived, staff took them to where the suspect was inside the store. Contact was made, and it was confirmed the suspect was given the trespass warning. Anthony L. Miller, 49, Homeless, was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Best Western, 3120 South Limit Avenue Monday morning in reference to a disturbance. When Officers arrived, they spoke with the Ciara L. Harvey, who said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend who then left her in the vehicle. Harvey requested medical treatment and was transported to the BRHC. Officers were unable to get a statement from the suspect. No arrests have been made at this time.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of South Carr Avenue for a report of a stolen blue recycling garbage can, valued at $60. When Officers arrived, they spoke with David A. Neill. Neill stated that some time between the hours of noon on Saturday July 31st and the evening of August 1st, someone took the container from the south end of the property. There are no suspects at this time.


 

While working a two vehicle accident with no injuries Monday afternoon, Officers checked the driver's names with Dispatch. A short time later, Dispatch informed Officers that one of the drivers had two misdemeanor warrants for Failure to Appear out of Holt County on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility and Failing to Register a Motor Vehicle. Officers took Blake S. Davies, 26, of Lincoln into custody and transported him to the Pettis County Jail, where he was held pending a bond of $244 cash only.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Home Health, 3143 West Broadway, in regard to a report of property damage. Someone had attempted to break into the back of a van parked in the back of the business. Steven Hughes estimated it would cost approximately $500 to repair the damage. There is no suspect information at this time.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of East 7th Street for a report of property damage Monday morning. When Officers arrived, they made contact with the caller, who stated that he came outside and noticed that his tires had been cut. While speaking to the caller about his vehicle, it was noticed a second vehicle also had a cut tire. Contact was made with the second vehicle's owner, Alfonso D. Kirkwood. There is no suspect at the time of the report. A computer check of the caller showed he had an active warrant out of Pettis County for Forgery. Roy J. Straisinger II, 52, was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $1500 cash or surety.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Talavera Auto, 601 West Pettis Street, for a report of a stolen vehicle. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Reynaldo Talavera. Talavera stated that he came outside that morning and saw that their red Ford F-250 pickup truck was missing. He stated that he checked his surveillance camera and saw the vehicle was leaving the parking lot earlier that morning. Talavera was not able to see what the driver looked like. The vehicle was last seen going south on North Missouri Avenue. The truck was valued at $8500. There are no suspects at this time.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers responded to the AA Muffler, 109 South Lamine, for a vehicle theft. When Officers arrived, they made contact with Brian Duane Carpenter, who stated that he dropped off the vehicle on July 23rd and discovered it was missing Monday. There are no suspects at the time of the report.
