On Thursday at 9:35 p.m., Sedalia Police took a theft report at WalMart, 3201 W. Broadway. Walmart Asset Protection said that a female walked out of the store without paying $300 of items. The suspect had been identified but had not yet been contacted at the time of the report. The case will be sent to the prosecutor for review.


 

On Thursday at 10:15 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a truck at Broadway and Lamine for moving violations and indicators of impaired driving. An investigation determined that the driver was intoxicated by drugs. 57-year-old Robert Gene Stean of Sedalia, was arrested and a search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was also in possession of forged plates. Stean was taken to a hospital, then on to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. Police are requesting charges of forgery, possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated by drugs, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.


 

On Thursday at 11:57 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 43-year-old Jason Bryan Warren for walking in the roadway at 4th and Brown. Prior to that, he was seen lingering in the area and appeared to be hiding in the shadows and behind trees watching an ex-girlfriend's house. He was warned several times to stop walking in the roadway when a sidewalk was available. The female was not interested in pursuing charges. Warren was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on Municipal charges of walking in the roadway where a sidewalk is available, and failure to cross the street at a 90-degree angle.


 

On Thursday at 10:10 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to a verbal disturbance in the 700 block of W. 16th. The caller reported that a customer at the business threatened him. Information was collected, and no charges are being sought.


 

On Thursday at 8:30 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 1800 block of South Kentucky for a burglary report. The victims reported that someone forced open the back door of the residence and stole numerous items, including medical marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a key to a vehicle.


 

On Thursday at 6:20 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of E. 14th for a property damage report. The complainant said that sometime between 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 6 p.m. Thursday, someone busted out the windshield and dented the door of a vehicle that belonged to her grandmother. The damage was estimated at around $600.
