Monday night, an SUV was stopped in the area of Matthew and Erika Drive off of Clinton Road for improper registration. The driver took off on foot, but was captured shortly thereafter. The driver's status was suspended and had 5 extraditable warrants. One warrant was on a charge of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree and Assault in the 4th Degree. There were also several Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of felony Forgery, Possession of Marijuana, Harassment in the 1st Degree, Making a False Report, False Impersonation, Speeding, Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, and Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a License. Total bonds amounted to $7,060 cash and $7,500 cash or surety. The driver was also in possession of cocaine. Nicholas DaQuan Levine, 25, of Killeen Texas, was taken to a hospital and then the Pettis County Jail. Levine was booked in on the warrants and put on a 24 hour hold pending charges of felony Resisting Arrest, Possession of Cocaine, and Driving While Suspended.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Motel 6, 3402 W Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a disturbance Monday evening. When Officers arrived on scene, the suspect was already being taken into custody by a Pettis County Deputy. The Deputy, while patrolling the area, had witnessed the suspect assault a female victim several times. Christopher D. Cowles, 47, Homeless, was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

An Officer responded to the Police Station Lobby Monday evening. Ciera Ross reported an identity theft via a phone call. Information was gathered for a report.


 

Monday morning, Officers performed a traffic stop on a gray Volkswagen Golf for traveling 60 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone. The traffic stop took place near West Broadway Boulevard and South Beacon Avenue. Contact was made with the driver. A computer check showed the driver to have a surrendered driver's license out of the state of Washington, which was not valid in any other state. Yuria Y. Onika, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department to be fingerprinted. Onika was issued citations for Speeding, No Operator's Status, No Proof of Insurance, and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of West Morgan Street Monday morning in reference to a theft. Margarett A. Hopkins reported a license plate was possibly stolen. The plate was entered as stolen, and no suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Monday afternoon, Sedalia Police took a report of found property in the lobby of the Police Department. It was reported that a prescription pill bottle with pills in it was dropped in the 400 block of South Ohio Avenue.
