Early Wednesday morning, a car was stopped in the area of East 9th Street and South Summit Avenue since the vehicle had expired license plates. A warrant check of an occupant revealed he had a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle On the Highway While Revoked. Christopher Anthony Watson, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested on the warrant and taken to the Pettis County Jail with bond set at $254.50 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of East 10th Street early Monday morning in reference to property damage. Brandon Nicholas Bom reported a car was spray painted and wanted to pursue charges. Suspect information was collected.


 

Tuesday night, Officers responded to the 500 block of North Osage Avenue for an accident report. Officers arrived and spoke with Denise Streeter, who stated that while she was at the Dollar General store, 619 North Ohio Avenue, her car was damaged by another vehicle. After investigation, a second vehicle was involved and sideswiped Streeter's vehicle. The driver and the suspect vehicle information are unknown at the time of the report.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Phillips 66, 216 West Broadway Boulevard Tuesday night in reference to a subject trespassing on the property. Mario A. Madrid, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested for Trespassing and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. However, after reviewing information from the call, it was elected to not pursue any charges.


 

Tuesday evening, a car was stopped in the area of South Monroe Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard because it had a headlight out and also didn't have any license plate lights. The car also had improper registration. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired by drugs. Jammie Lynn Ferguson, 43, of Stover, was arrested, taken to a hospital, and then the Pettis County Jail. Ferguson was booked in on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), pending release to a sober person.


 

Early Wednesday morning, a car was stopped in the area of West Cooper Street and North Ohio Avenue for driving without tail lights. A DOR check of the driver revealed his license was revoked. Benjamin David McCaffity, 36, of Liberty, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked on a felony charge of Driving While Revoked.


 

Sedalia Police spoke with Mary Burkhart Tuesday afternoon at the Police Headquarters in reference to a vehicle accident. Burkhart stated that while parked at the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, someone struck the passenger side of her vehicle and left the scene.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers took a report near the 1200 block of South Osage in reference to a possible domestic assault. Both subjects had minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Officers were unable to determine a primary physical aggressor. The subjects agreed to separate for the night. A report was made for documentation and for a 12 hour domestic violence log.


 

Officers responded to the E Street Bar, 1201 East 3rd Street Monday afternoon in reference to a subject that was trespassing. The subject had been previously issued a non-expiring trespass warning for the business by the Sedalia Police Department on October 1, 2021. Sandy Kaye Thomas, 63, of Sedalia, was issued a municipal summons for Trespassing with a court date. Thomas was then released.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers responded to the 1400 block of Liberty Park Boulevard for an unknown 911 call. The caller was crying and reported that something was wrong in the rear of the apartment complex. The caller was requesting that Police respond to this location. Upon arrival, the call became unfounded and no one was in danger. Further investigation led to a hotline call to the Department of Aging.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Osage Avenue in reference to found property Tuesday morning. Officers made contact with Brianna A. Smith, who reported that a couple of keys on a key chain had been found outside of her residence. They were placed into evidence as found property.
