Sedalia Police Reports for July 29th, 2021

Early Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of South Barrett Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance. After the investigation, both the male and female subjects were arrested. Joshua L. Hilton, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Angie M. Steeves, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree. Both Hilton and Steeves were transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held on a 24 hour hold while charges are sought.

An Officer responded to the 1200 block of South Grand Avenue for a report of a theft Thursday morning. Don E. Williams Jr. reported that a jar containing approximately $120 in change was stolen from his residence. A possible suspect has been named in the case.

Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Sedalia Crossing, 3040 West Broadway Boulevard in reference to harassment. During the investigation, it was discovered that a male subject took a female's debit card and withdrew $400 in cash from an ATM without the owner's permission. Kyle N. Richards, 36, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold while state charges for felony Stealing and misdemeanor Fraudulent Use of a Debit Device are requested.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of West Cooper Street Wednesday night. The driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and had a confirmed warrant out of Pettis County. Margarito Marcos Quetzecua, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where bond on the Possession of Marijuana warrant was set at $1500 cash or surety. Quetzecua was booked and released on the charges of No Operator's License and Driving While Intoxicated.

Wednesday night, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of Thompson Boulevard and West 10th Street. During the stop, the driver was arrested for Operating Without a Valid License. Cristina Romero Ubaldo, 43, of Sedalia, was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where she was processed and released with a court date.

Officers were dispatched to the Centennial Pool, 1500 East 16th Street, for a report of theft Wednesday evening. Andrea N. Gergovska stated that someone had stolen money and her driver's license out of her wallet. Later that same night, Kimber Ann Nedderman stated that her cell phone, valued at $1000 had been stolen from the pool.

Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of East Saline Street Wednesday evening for a report of an animal at large. The owner was located, and a check through Dispatch showed the owner had a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Animal At Large. Luis Gonzalez Muniz, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on the warrant. Bond was set at $60 cash only.

Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Stacey Lane for a report of theft. Phillip Lee Hufferd stated his work trailer was parked at the storage units at 3305 Green Ridge Road and someone had broken into it and stolen items from within. Hufferd stated there was likely $3,000 worth of tools stolen.

Early Thursday morning, Officers responded to a possible disturbance near the 300 block of South Engineer. Officers made contact with the parties, and a check through Dispatch showed the female subject had an active Failure to Appear warrant out of Osceola on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Rachel Elizabeth Davis, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond set at $139.00.

Officers were dispatched to the American Inn, 1217 South Limit Avenue early Thursday morning in reference to a disturbance. Management of the business called the Police regarding an intoxicated subject in a hotel room who was causing the disturbance. The subject refused to leave, and was arrested for a state charge of Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Michele A. Davenport, 54, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released with a court date to be determined.

Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the area of East 4th Street and South Emmet Avenue, as a subject was reported to be trespassing on Union Pacific land. A computer check revealed that he had three warrants for his arrest. Two were issued by Pettis County, with a total bond of $350. The Pettis County warrants were for Failure to Appear on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway While Suspended, and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. The third warrant was issued by Morgan County, and was for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond on the Morgan County warrant was $15,000, surety only. After being declared medically fit for confinement at the jail, John Edward Washausen, 31, Homeless, was transported there and booked on his warrants.

Sedalia Police received information from Humboldt County California Wednesday afternoon in reference to a possible child abuse case in Sedalia.

Tuesday night, Officers observed a male on a bicycle in the area of East 24th Street and South Marvin Avenue. Officers conducted a subject check on the male. The male had two active Pettis County warrants. One warrant was for Trespassing in the 1st Degree, the other was a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Open Container. Steven P. Davidson, 65, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a $60 cash only bond.

Early Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Lamine Avenue for a report of a theft from a vehicle. When Officers arrived, Jose Ruiz stated the car was rummaged through and items were missing.

Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Sherwin Williams store, 1400 South Limit Avenue, in reference to a counterfeit bill that had been passed at the business. Officers arrived and made contact with Andrew J. Mittelstadt, who reported a counterfeit bill had been passed sometime over the weekend. There was no suspect information at the time of the call. The bill was seized and placed into evidence.

Last Saturday morning, Officers responded to the area of Clinton Road, just south of 24th Street for a single vehicle crash. When Officers arrived, an investigation was completed. The driver of the vehicle was driving while intoxicated. However, due to his medical condition, he was released to medical staff. Charges are being sought on the driver for Driving While Intoxicated.

Tuesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the area of West 14th Street and New England Drive for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with two suspects. The female subject stated that her son struck her in the face. The male suspect stated that he made contact with his mother because she approached him aggressively. Neither subject had injury, so a primary aggressor could not be determined. A report was completed for a 12 hour log.
