Saturday night, Sedalia Police responded to the 500 block of South Grand Avenue for a disturbance. Upon arriving, contact was made with the victim. He informed the Officers that a theft had occurred, and he knew who the suspect was. The value of the theft was estimated at approximately $440. After investigation, the primary physical aggressor in the disturbance was determined to be the same suspect. The suspect was later located and placed under arrest. Kathleen A. Kraft, 33, Homeless, was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Kraft was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Stealing and Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.


 

Officers were performing a warrant check Saturday morning at the Econo Lodge Truman Inn, 3501 West Broadway Boulevard. Robert D. Anderson, 29, of Sedalia, was found to have a Failure to Appear warrant out of Johnson County on original charges of Driving While Suspended. Anderson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in with a $500 cash only bond.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Sonic restaurant, 300 West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a subject check Friday evening. Officers made contact with the subject in question and her information was checked with Dispatch. It was confirmed she had an active warrant. Judith Leigh Denney, 55, Homeless, was arrested for her warrant for Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Denney was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked.


 

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a report of a stolen vehicle. Ashley L. Dunham reported that their daughter had parked a truck at the McDonald's restaurant, 3101 West Broadway Boulevard, that morning. Someone had stolen the truck. The vehicle nor the suspect have been located at this time.


 

Officers responded to the Chances R Bar and Grill, 303 South Lamine Avenue Saturday night for a report of a violation of a court order. While on scene, the male continued to yell and was drinking alcohol in the roadway. Brandon J. Cooper, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested for Noise Violation, Littering, Resisting Arrest, and an Open Container Violation.


 

Sunday night, Officers responded to the lobby of the Police Department for a report of property damage. Clayton Atkinson reported that an unknown suspect threw something at his car, breaking the sunroof. The incident happened in the 400 block of East Broadway Boulevard.


 

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of West Avenue for a report of a suicidal subject who was armed with a knife and walking along the railroad tracks. Officers arrived, located the individual, and using deescalating tactics, were able to convince the subject to go to Bothwell Hospital willingly for help. There were no injuries to the individual, the public, or others.


 

Early Saturday morning, Officers responded to the area of East 5th Street and South Washington Avenue in reference to an accident involving city property. Before Officers arrived, the suspect vehicle left the scene. The vehicle had struck a utility pole, knocking it down. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Main Street and North Park Avenue early Saturday morning. The vehicle was stopped for an excessive window tinting. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver had a suspended driving status. Juan M. Marcos Herrera, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Herrera was booked and released on charges of Driving While Suspended.


 

Sunday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of South Engineer Avenue for a report of a disturbance involving a handgun. One of the parties in that disturbance was found to have a Pettis County warrant on a charge of felony Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender). Investigation revealed that a person known to one of the victims had pointed a handgun at a person, but the victim declined to pursue prosecution. Brayan Castro Izaguirre, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for his warrant. Izaguirre was held pending a $5,000 cash or surety bond.


 

Sedalia Police were informed by University Hospital of Columbia Friday evening that a child abuse case had occurred in Sedalia. The victim suffered a spiral fracture of the left femur. She is hospitalized at University Hospital at this time. The victim was initially taken to a primary care physician by the complainant, Jessica R. Levine. A child abuse hotline report was submitted to the Children's Division.


 

Early Saturday morning, Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street, in reference to a vehicle theft. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and vehicle pursuit ensued around Sedalia. The driver was later apprehended by the Pettis County Sheriff's Department. State charges are being submitted, but there was no further information in the report.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Granny Lane on a vehicle that had failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and failed to signal a turn Saturday morning. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Christopher Hicks, 51, of Evansville Indiana, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, Hicks refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood draw was conducted. Hicks was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on charges of Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 300 block of McAnally Court. When Officers arrived, they spoke with the victim. He stated that his girlfriend had punched him in the face during an argument. The suspect was not on scene at the time. A short time later, Officers were called back to the residence, because the suspect had returned. She admitted to punching the victim in the face. Autumn L. Byrd, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Byrd was booked on charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree.


 

Saturday evening, Officers met with a victim at the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street. Theresa Cox wished to report that she had been assaulted. A family member allegedly struck her near the intersection of South Osage Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 500 block of South New York Avenue Sunday morning in reference to an assault that had occurred earlier in the morning. The caller stated he was assaulted while at a friend's house because he was a witness in another incident. Further investigation determined the caller started the fight while intoxicated.


 

Officers responded to the 700 block of North Missouri Avenue Saturday afternoon for a report of a disturbance. It was later discovered that a male subject threw a cooler at the victim's vehicle, causing damage to it.


 

Sunday morning, Officers spoke with Christopher Judah Skrzypczak in the 800 block of East 4th Street. Sometime overnight, a scooter was taken from his front yard.


 

Late Saturday night, Officers responded to the 700 block of East 24th Street in reference to a runaway juvenile. The juvenile returned to the residence before Officers could enter their information into MULES as missing.


 

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of West 7th Street in reference to a report of stabbing. Officers spoke to the parents and witnesses. It was discovered a juvenile female and a juvenile male were playing in boxes. As the female was crawling through the boxes, the male poked the box with a knife, stabbing the female. The female was treated at the Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Friday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Ohio Avenue and West 9th Street. The vehicle's driver had committed a number of traffic violations. During the investigation, it was found that the driver was in possession of crack cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. George Elwood Buckner Sr., 59, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Buckner was placed on a 24 hour hold pending state charges of two counts of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.


 

Early Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street, for a report of a trespass incident occurring. A male was given a lawful order to leave the property, and he refused. Alexander Nicholas Orloff, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Orloff was also evaluated for a fit for confinement check. Medical professionals cleared Orloff for confinement, and he was placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold due to his condition.


 

Sunday night, Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street, for a report of a cat bite. Officers spoke with a female victim at the hospital. The bite took place at the CVS Pharmacy, 100 East Broadway. The report was completed.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Main Gate of the Missouri State Fairgrounds, 2503 West 16th Street, for an incident involving two subjects trying to get into the fairgrounds. A female was found to be in a condition where she was unable to care for herself. The female was arrested and taken to the BRHC for a fit for confinement check. Medical personnel cleared her to be confined. The female was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold.

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the State Fair Shopping Center, 1400 South Limit Avenue, for a trespassing incident. A male was sleeping in front of a business. The male was found to have an active Pettis County warrant for Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Sam Branstetter, 77, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Branstetter was booked in for Trespassing in the 1st Degree and released of his own recognizance.


 

Friday night, Officers were dispatched to the Police Department lobby for a public service incident. A subject was located in the lobby and wanted to speak to an Officer. The reporting party wanted to inform Officers of something occurring and to have it documented. A general information report was completed. There was no further information in the report.


 

Friday evening, Officers responded to the 1600 block of West 3rd Street for a civil standby. While on scene, the male subject was found to have three active Failure to Appear warrants from Sedalia on original charges of Expired Plates, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility, and Speeding in a School Zone. Ronald J. Blum, 57, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $700 cash only bond.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a gray van near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Arlington Avenue for a defective headlight. The driver was found to have a suspended driving status. Marcus D. Minor, 44, of Union, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Minor was then booked and released.


 

Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Wildflower Beauty Salon, 703 South Ohio Avenue for a report of property damage. Brittney Coonce reported her business was egged in the overnight hours, causing minor damage.


 

Friday morning, Officers met with John McCutchen in the 1400 block of South Beacon Avenue. McCutchen had found a cell phone in his yard. It has been secured into evidence for safekeeping.


 

Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard Friday morning in regards to a trespassing complaint. When Officers arrived, they observed the suspect urinating into a trash can near one of the entrances to the store. Michael K. Wright, 60 of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Indecent Exposure with a court date.
