Sedalia Police Reports For June 22, 2021

Sunday morning, an SUV was stopped on South Osage Avenue at about Broadway Boulevard for driving without headlights and suspicion of impaired driving. After an investigation, the driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended. Sheleta Michelle Hernton, 40, of Sedalia, was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and then to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on the state charges pending release to a sober person.

A truck was stopped in the area of West Broadway and South Carr Avenue Saturday night after failing to signal a turn. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated and his driving status was revoked through Missouri. Margarito Quetzecua Ubaldo, 34, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest. Quetzecua Ubaldo was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on state charges of felony Driving While Intoxicated and misdemeanor Driving While Revoked pending release to a sober person.

Saturday morning, a truck was stopped in the area of East 15th Street and South Ingram Avenue for several moving violations. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. Taylor J. Sullivan, 24, of Cole Camp, was arrested for a municipal charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Sullivan was transported to the Sedalia Police Headquarters and then released to a sober person.

Sedalia Police observed a subject who had an active warrant near East 6th Street and South Lafayette Avenue Monday night. A check through Dispatch confirmed the warrant and the subject was taken into custody without incident. Briana Lee Naylor, 24, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked on an active Johnson County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle.

Monday night, Officers responded to the area of Welch Court and West Saline Street for a report of suspicious activity. Officers made contact with the subjects matching the caller's description, and a check through Dispatch showed one of the subjects had active warrants for his arrest. Brett Ryan Lyles, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested on his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Driving While Revoked, and Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Highway Without a Valid License. Lyles was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on his warrants, with a bond set at $450.

Sedalia Police made contact with a subject walking on the street on Winchester Drive next to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard Monday night. Upon contact, the subject stated they had a warrant for their arrest. The subject's information was provided to Dispatch, and the warrant was confirmed. Brenden M. Price, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Parole Violation warrant on original charges of felony Tampering With a Motor Vehicle and felony Resisting Arrest. Price was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held with no bond.

Monday night, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Sneed Avenue for a call of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the suspect. Their information was checked, and the subject was confirmed to have an active warrant for their arrest. Darian U. Benton, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for her Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Possession of Marijuana. Benton was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked with a court date and a bond of $150 cash only.

Early Tuesday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car without tail lights illuminated. The vehicle also had no front light, nor a front or rear license plate. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's status suspended out of Indiana. Elmer Jewel Miley Jr., 37, of Sedalia, arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Miley was booked on charges of Driving Without a Valid License and Driving While Suspended. Miley was placed on a 24 hour hold, pending charges.

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Deseret Drive Monday night in reference to a disturbance. Officers spoke with the subjects involved. Investigation revealed that one person was intoxicated, and made threats towards a group of people that he would assault and shoot them. The person also pushed one person in the group. Timothy Mull, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Assault in the 4th Degree and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Monday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 300 block of West 6th Street for a report of property damage. Michael L. Palmer stated that someone had egged their front door. No crime had been committed, as there was no property damage. A request was made for a report to be taken for the landlord.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to a reported disturbance with weapons Monday morning in the 1500 block of South Harrison Avenue. Paul Eugene Stark, 43, Homeless, was placed into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action.

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole office, 205 Thompson Road, in reference to a subject with a warrant. The suspect was contacted, and his information was run through Dispatch. Dispatch advised he had a possible warrant, and was confirmed by hard copy a short time later. Thomas Gibbs, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested on his warrant for Violation of An Order of Protection. Gibbs was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where his bond was set at $1500 cash or surety.

Monday morning, Crystal Fizer filed a report with the Sedalia Police Department regarding her juvenile son running away from her at a business in the 4100 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The juvenile has been entered into MULES/NCIC as a runaway.
