Sedalia Police Reports for June 8, 2021

Early Tuesday morning, Officers responded to the Prime Time store, 216 West Broadway Boulevard, for a possible forgery. Officers collected the forgery and the store did not wish to pursue charges.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a building check Monday evening. After completing the check, a subject Officers recognized stepped into the alley to ask what was going on. Officers knew that a warrant for the subject's arrest was entered. A warrant check revealed he had a Failure to Appear warrant from Pettis County on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Dustyn Lane Eppenauer, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail on the warrant, with a bond of $129 cash only.

Monday evening, Officers responded to the 300 block of Scott Joplin Court for a theft report. Upon speaking to the victim and the suspect, the item was found in the victim's house, but was damaged. The victim then wished to pursue charges for property damage. Charges were submitted to the City of Sedalia prosecutor's office for Destruction of Non City Property.

Sedalia Police responded to the lobby of the Police Department for a harassment report late Monday night. The victim said the suspect was harassing her by continually texting her. She was advised to stop responding and block the subject, but she refused. She wished to pursue charges for harassment. Charges were later submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor's office for Harassment in the 2nd Degree.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Osage Avenue Monday evening for a domestic disturbance report. Officers made contact with the victim, who stated her adult son physically assaulted her. Officers made contact with the suspect, Christopher M. Burgess, 30, of Sedalia. Burgess was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Monday night, Officers took a report of a theft not in progress from the 1900 block of South Montgomery Avenue. Austin Boatcher stated someone had taken a lawn mower from their property.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Dollar General store, 4215 East Broadway Boulevard Monday night in reference to a driver passed out behind the wheel. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was highly intoxicated. Nathanael Aaron David, 32, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. David was then transported to the Sedalia Police Headquarters, then to a hospital, and then to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender), pending release to a sober person.

On the afternoon of May 28th, a theft at the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, was reported to the Sedalia Police Department. At this time, the suspect is unidentified.

Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Harrison Avenue on the afternoon of June 3rd for a disturbance call. Officers arrived, investigated the incident, and conducted record checks on all subjects involved. It was determined one of the subjects had an active arrest warrant for Failure to Appear from Pettis County on original charges of Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. The warrant was confirmed active, and Karl L. Buettner, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested without incident. Buettner was transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing and was given a cash only bond of $200.
