In the early morning hours Wednesday, Officers responded to the Liquor Locker, 513 West Main Street, for a burglary alarm. Officers observed a broken door, but no one was located inside. Later that same day, the suspect turned himself in. Jonathan Michael Rockett, 26, Homeless, confessed and was then transported to the Pettis County Jail. Rockett was booked in on charges of Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree.


 

Saturday night, Officers were dispatched to the Wood's Grocery Store, 1400 South Limit, in reference to a theft. Employees reported that a male subject had attempted to leave the store without rendering payment for consumable items. When confronted, the male handed over the stolen items before leaving the area on foot. Officers arrived and checked the area, but the male was not able to be located.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 800 block of East 15th Street for a property damage report Tuesday night. When Officers arrived, they made contact with Amy Denise Barton Roberts, who stated a female subject who is known to her came to her house and deflated a tire on her car. The female is known, and charges are being submitted to the prosecutor.

Late Wednesday night, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Boonville Street in reference to a physical domestic disturbance. Contact was made with both parties, and it was determined they were involved in a physical altercation. Both parties had minor injuries, and neither wished to pursue charges. The primary physical aggressor could not be determined, and a 12 hour log was completed to document the incident.


 

On the evening of March 27th, Yan Sultanov reported a forgery to Sedalia Police. Sultanov stated two individuals known to him were showing a property owned by him in the 1600 block of South Moniteau, and were attempting to sell the same property.


 

Officers responded to the 800 block of West 7th Street for a property damage report early Wednesday morning. Contact was made with Kaitlyn Kinner, who reported a window on her vehicle had been busted out. A bag was stolen from her vehicle, which contained an electronic device. There is no suspect information at the time of the report.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Dollar General Store, 2500 West Broadway Boulevard Wednesday afternoon in reference to theft. Upon arrival, Officers met with management, who advised a male subject had left the store without paying for several items. The total value of the items was set at $41.35. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.


 

Monday night, Officers took a theft report that occurred in the 600 block of West 3rd Street. Shauna Dotson stated the theft occurred Saturday morning. Dotson reported she had a package delivered to her house, and an unknown subject came onto her porch and stole the package. There is no suspect information at the time of the report.


 

Officers were dispatched to the Menards store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue, to investigate a reported theft on the afternoon of March 16th. Upon arrival, Officers met with the complainant. The suspect has stolen merchandise from the business on five different occasions since January of 2023. The suspect has been identified, and charges of felony Stealing are being requested.
