Sedalia Police Reports For May 10, 2022

Monday evening, Officers responded to the 1000 block of South Marshall Avenue for a 911 call hang up. Upon arrival, it was determined a domestic disturbance had taken place. The suspect left the scene before the arrival of Officers. Charges are being requested, but the suspect has not been located at this time.

Sedalia Police made contact with subjects walking through the parking lot northwest of West Broadway Boulevard and South State Fair Boulevard early Monday morning. One of the subjects was found to have a THC cartridge. The cartridge was seized and entered into evidence to be destroyed. No charges are being sought.

Monday night, Officers were dispatched to check on a suspicious vehicle at a residence in the 1900 block of East Broadway Boulevard. Officers arrived and made contact with two subjects inside a vehicle. Officers ran both occupant's information through Joint Communications. Communications advised that the suspect had a possible warrant for Failure to Appear out of Johnson County. The warrant was confirmed a short time later. James M. Kirchner, 20, of Clarksburg, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $350 cash only bond.

In the early morning hours of May 6th, Officers performed a subject check on a person operating their bicycle into oncoming traffic near South Osage Avenue and West 16th Street. The subject failed to stop operating his bicycle, even after commands from Officers to stop. The subject attempted to flee on his bicycle, but was apprehended and placed in handcuffs. A check through Dispatch showed he had two active Pettis County warrants for Failure to Appear on two charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and one charge of Driving While Revoked with a total cash only bond of $500. Floyd E. Flippin Jr., 56, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on his warrants. A state charge of Resisting Arrest was submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Osage Avenue Monday morning in reference to two adult siblings who had physically pushed each other. The incident was documented in a 12 hour domestic violence log. There were no injuries reported, and no arrests were made at the time of the report.

Sedalia Police began investigating a possible sex crime in Sedalia Monday morning. The suspect is known, and the investigation is ongoing.
