Sedalia Police Reports for May 12, 2022

Early Thursday morning, Officers conducted a vehicle stop in the area of East 16th Street and South Montgomery Avenue. The driver's information was run through Dispatch, and he was confirmed to have a Pettis County warrant on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Thomas Lloyd Easterberg, 58, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on the warrant pending a $7500 cash or surety bond.

Wednesday afternoon, Officers responded to the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard, for a report of shoplifting. The suspect was located and arrested. When the Officers unhandcuffed the suspect to hand him over to the jail, the suspect became violent and uncontrollable. The suspect struck Police Personnel while the Jail and Police Personnel tried to control him. Gabriel A. LaClair, 41, Homeless, was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Stealing/Shoplifting and Assault in the 4th Degree.

Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Oak Grove Lane Wednesday morning. The driver of one of the vehicles involved was arrested. Amanda J. Brewer, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West 2nd Street for a property damage report Wednesday afternoon. Ethan McMillin stated that earlier in the day an unknown suspect damaged the back window of a vehicle parked on the lot.

Officers got out with a vehicle in the 1300 block of West 4th Street Wednesday morning after observing the vehicle trying to avoid the Officer. The vehicle's registration was also expired. A computer check of the driver's information showed that her Missouri driving privileges were revoked. Jodie L. Thomas, 34, Homeless, was issued a Sedalia municipal summons for Driving While Revoked and released from the scene.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 600 block of East 17th Street for a report of a theft of a motor vehicle Wednesday afternoon. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Donna L. Smith, who stated that while she was working at the Bothwell Regional Health Center, she thought her granddaughter stole her Ford Explorer. The vehicle was listed as stolen.

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the First Choice Auto, 2934 Clinton Road, in reference to a theft report. The shop owner reported that between Monday night and Wednesday morning, someone cut catalytic converters off of vehicles.

Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of East 5th Street Wednesday morning for an assist agency report. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Tristen Williams. Williams stated an unknown subject injected him with methamphetamine while he was in Denver, Colorado.

Early Wednesday morning, a car was stopped in the area of West 10th Street and South State Fair Boulevard because the brake light was out. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. James Henry Kreisel, 26, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Kreisel was taken to a hospital, then to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in pending release to a sober person.

Wednesday morning, Officers responded to the Stanley Black and Decker, 1500 Waterloo Drive, for a report of found property. Contact was made with a male subject who reported that a bag of possible narcotics was found in a bathroom. The suspected narcotic was taken to the Sedalia Police Department to be secured into evidence for destruction.

On the afternoon of May 7th, Sedalia Police were called to the Police Station lobby for a report of a violation of a court order. Upon arrival, Officers met with the caller. She stated that her ex-husband had violated a protection order by sending her a hateful text message. It was later determined that the caller had also violated the protection order the ex-husband had against her. A report was done for documentation.

Officers were made aware on Wednesday morning that an individual spread a sexually transmitted disease to another subject in the 900 block of Westwood Avenue in January of 2020. At the time of the report, the reporting party did not have a culpable mental state. It is unknown if the victim is willing to cooperate. Charges are not being requested.
