Sedalia Police Reports For November 16, 2021

Monday night, Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 14th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. The victim stated her husband was intoxicated, broke down the door and assaulted her. Marshal G. Buesing, 37, of Sedalia, was identified, arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, Knowing Burning or Exploding, and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree.

On the morning of November 8th, Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Road. The driver proceeded through the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Road with a red traffic light displayed. Tyler Nathaniel Tindell, 18, of Sedalia, was found to have an active Pettis County warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Possession of Marijuana. Tindell was also in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Tindell was arrested on his warrant with a bond of $60 cash only.

Officers responded to the 400 block of West 4th Street in reference to a missing person Monday night. Violet Mae Wellman stated her roommate has not returned home since Sunday. A missing person report was made and the subject has been entered into MULES as missing.

Monday morning, an Officer responded to the 300 block of West 4th Street for a property damage report. Jacoby Bell had property that was damaged and wished to pursue charges. A state charge of Property Damage in the 2nd Degree was submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office on the suspect.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue for a burglary report Monday morning. James Wikstrom reported that sometime over the weekend, an unknown suspect entered an unoccupied residence and drank four 20 ounce bottles of Mountain Dew.

On the morning of November 15th, Officers saw a subject walking in the area of West 16th Street and South Kentucky Avenue that they believed to have a warrant for their arrest. A computer check through Dispatch confirmed he had an active warrant for his arrest, which was issued by Pettis County. The warrant For Failure to Appear was on original charges of Failing to Register a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License. John Edward Washausen, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was being held pending a $250 cash bond.

An Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle where the registered owner had an active warrant on Monday afternoon near East 5th Street and South Lamine Avenue. The driver was confirmed as the owner. Kimberly Elaine Cline, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested on an Audrain County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding. Cline was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked with a $100 bond.

Monday afternoon, Jonathon L. Prewitt came to the Police Station to report one of his weapons was missing. Prewitt stated that his AR-15 rifle was missing from the trunk of his vehicle while parked in the 500 block of South Sneed Avenue. Prewitt last saw the rifle in mid-October. The weapon was recorded and sent to the Pettis County Joint Communications to be entered as stolen.

On Sunday, October 31st, Officers conducted a compliance check in the 400 block of West Henry Street to ensure that the sex offender residing there was complying with the Halloween requirements. Upon arrival, Officers found that there was no sign at the door notifying the public that there was no candy at the address, and there was no answer of the door. Upon further investigation, however, Officers discovered that the address provided may have not been accurate. Because of this, a report was taken to document the incident.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of East 7th Street in regard to compliance checks for the Halloween sex offender requirements on the evening of October 31st. The sex offender at this address was found to be non compliant. A warrant is being requested due to the suspect no answering for law enforcement and not having a sign at their door informing the public there was no candy at this address.

On Sunday, October 31st, Officers went to the 2000 block of East 7th Street in regard to a sex offender Halloween compliance check. The sex offender at this address was found to be non compliant. A warrant is being requested due to the suspect not answering for law enforcement and not having a sign on their door informing the public that there was no candy at this address.

On Sunday, October 31st, Officers went to the 1000 block South State Fair Boulevard to perform a Halloween compliance check on the sex offender residing at this address. The offender was found to not be in compliance in that he did not have a sign out declaring there was no candy at the residence. When this was brought up with the subject, they acknowledged that they were not in compliance and stated they would not be putting out the sign. A warrant request has been submitted due to the suspect refusing to comply with the restrictions of conduct on Halloween activities for sex offenders.

Monday afternoon, a juvenile runaway was located in the 1000 block of South Harrison Avenue. Upon searching the juvenile, there were two keys located on his person. The juvenile said he found the keys on the ground in the area. The keys will be temporarily held as found property.
