Sedalia Police Reports For November 17, 2021

Early Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police were dispatched to a disturbance in the 2400 block of Greenwood Lane. After speaking with the individuals involved, it was determined the female was the primary physical aggressor. Natalie Green was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24-hour hold.

Sedalia Police stopped a tan Ford Tuesday night at the State Fair Shopping Center, 1400 South Limit Avenue, for speeding. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the passenger had a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. The warrant was confirmed and the suspect was arrested. Sherman L. Ward Jr., 24, of Springfield, was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond set at $500 cash only.

Tuesday night, Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street in reference to a controlled substance found on a patient. The subject was admitted due to health issues. The subject was properly identified and the controlled substance was collected. State charges are being requested.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to New Haven, located at 1903 South Ingram Avenue, in reference to two runaways Tuesday evening. When Officers arrived, they spoke with staff. Staff stated two juveniles had left out the front door again. The individuals were entered as missing.

On the afternoon of November 15th, the Sedalia Police Crime Resolution Unit assisted the Pettis County Sheriff's Office to serve an arrest warrant in the 19000 block of Third Road. The suspect was arrested without incident on a Pettis County warrant for Possession of Dangerous Drugs. Bond was set at $125,000 cash or surety. Zakkry Allen Comfort, 29, Homeless, was transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 100 block of East 4th Street last Thursday morning for a report of theft. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the caller, Kyle William Applegate. Applegate stated that his ex girlfriend had his bank card and has since blocked him and prevented him from getting the card back.

Monday morning, Glen M. Taylor came to the Sedalia Police Department to report a theft in the 600 block of East 17th Street. Taylor said that sometime in the last few days, someone stole several items from his vehicle, which had been parked in the alley behind his house.

Tuesday morning, Officers responded to the 200 block of South Engineer Avenue for a report of property damage. James Fairfax wished to pursue charges for the damages. A few hours later, Fairfax came to the Police Department to report property damage that occurred in the same area and again wished to pursue charges.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to a burglary that occurred in the 1300 block of West 11th Street Tuesday morning. The house was burglarized some time between the evening of November 5th and the morning of November 16th.

Monday morning, an Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of North Quincy Avenue in reference to a theft report. Joseph Flannery stated that sometime during the overnight hours, someone stole a cell phone out of his vehicle.

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Police Station lobby for a report of found property. Upon arrival, Officers met with Justin Allen Hammerli, who stated that he found a set of keys in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Ohio Avenue. There was nothing on the keys that would help identify an owner, so the keys were placed into found property.

Sedalia Police responded to the Smoker's Outlet, 1700 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a hit and run accident Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, Officers met with management, who advised someone in a U-Haul truck had struck their building while in the drive-thru, causing damage. The case remains under investigation and the suspect has not been identified at this time.

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of South Grand Avenue Tuesday afternoon in reference to a theft report. Lisa Schultz said she lost her phone with her debit card linked to it. Schultz said later in the day, money was taken out of her account.

Tuesday afternoon, Officers performed a traffic stop on a silver Dodge truck in the area of Industrial Drive and West Main Street for speeding. Officers relayed the driver's information to Dispatch, who advised he had a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding. Daniel S. Ford, 42, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and was booked into the Pettis County Jail. Bond was set at $210 cash only.

On the afternoon of November 10th, The Sedalia Police Department executed a search warrant in the 400 block of East 27th Street as part of an ongoing investigation into thefts from motor vehicles. During the course of the search warrant, several items associated with illegal drug activity were found and seized. Two adults were arrested without incident and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Nathan Paul McMillin II, 25, of Sedalia, was charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance near a School, Distribution of Marijuana near a School, felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and also had a felony Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Dianna S. Smith, 48, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Drug and a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failure to Equip a Motor Vehicle with a Horn in Good Working Order.

On the afternoon of November 13th, a vehicle stop in the 100 block of East Broadway for two traffic violations resulted in the arrest of the operator for Driving While Suspended and No Proof of Insurance, in addition to a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Suspended out of Pettis County. Crystal Gayle Johnson, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing.
