Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Station to contact a subject who wanted to turn herself in for a municipal warrant. The warrant was confirmed with Dispatch. Officers then transported Haylea K. Heimsoth, 27, of Sedalia, to the Pettis County Jail. Heimsoth was booked on her Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Animal at Large pending a cash-only bond of $60.00.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of East 9th Street Monday morning for a report of stealing. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Christopher W. Hughes. Hughes stated that between noon on Sunday and Monday morning, someone stole a mountain bicycle. The bicycle was a black and yellow electric Swagtron model and carried a value of $1,357.00. Hughes named a couple of possible suspects, but did not have any further contact information.

In the early morning hours Tuesday, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of the State Fair Community College, 3201 West 16th Street. Officers had observed the vehicle making several lane violations. After stopping the vehicle, Officers noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. An investigation was completed, and showed the driver was impaired. David L. Brown, 20, of Overland Park Kansas, was then placed under arrest. Brown was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), then held pending release to a sober person.


 

Officers observed items in the roadway Monday night near the area of South Limit Avenue and West 16th Street. The items found were a red coat containing a paycheck and a black shirt. The items were collected from the roadway. Using the information on the paycheck, attempts were made to locate the owner. The attempts were not successful. The property was placed into evidence holding for safe keeping.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Sedalia Police Department to make contact over the phone for a report of fraud that occurred in the 900 block of Winchester Drive. Donald Wayne Dickerson, the victim, later came to the Police Department to write a written statement in regards to Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. The report was generated for investigation.
