Sedalia Police Reports For October 10, 2022

Saturday evening, Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West 7th Street and South Vermont Avenue. The driver was found to have an active Failure to Appear warrant from Sedalia on original charges of Peace Disturbance. Mekeba I. Nash, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash only bond of $60.00.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of West 5th Street and South Limit Avenue to assist with a traffic stop early Sunday morning. While Officers were speaking to the driver, the odor of intoxicants was detected on his breath. The suspect was then arrested, and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. James H. Kreisel, 26, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released with charges pending for Driving While Intoxicated.

In the early morning hours of September 30th, Officers assisted in a traffic stop in the area of North Grand Avenue and West Pettis Street. The vehicle was observed driving on the wrong side of the road. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where she refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood draw was conducted. Tracy Moseley, 45, of Sedalia, was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on charges of Driving While Intoxicated.

Sunday afternoon, Officers responded to the 1500 block of South Kentucky Avenue for a report of domestic assault. Upon arrival, a female victim was found lying on the ground in the back yard. PCAD medics responded to treat the female. It was discovered the female subject was assaulted by a male suspect. Luis Daniel Santiago Garcia, 48, of Sedalia, was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Santiago Garcia was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold.

Sedalia Police were observing a black sedan as it drove, making a wide turn and nearly striking a curb late Saturday night. The vehicle then continued to drift back and forth in its lane. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at South Limit Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Inocente Prisciliano Miranda, 45, of Sedalia, was then arrested, and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. A request for the charges of Driving While Suspended and Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender) have been submitted to the prosecutor's office.

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the area of West 20th Street and South Grand Avenue for a report of a hit and run accident. Summer D. Cramer reported the suspect's vehicle struck their vehicle and then left without providing information. Leads have been developed, and are being followed up on.

Officers were sent to an address in the 1000 block of East 9th Street Sunday afternoon for a subject check. Upon arrival, it was determined the female subject had gotten into a verbal argument with another subject in the house. Dispatch confirmed the female had a Sedalia Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Animal At Large. Mikala Brianne O'Bryan, 22, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a cash only bond of $89.00.

Sunday afternoon, Officers responded to the Woods Express, 703 East Broadway Boulevard for a report of found property. A customer turned in a fake $100 bill, but did not attempt to pass it off as legitimate. It was placed into evidence.

Sedalia Police Officers conducted a warrant check near the intersection of East 4th Street and South Wagner Avenue Sunday afternoon. A person of interest was detained and asked to provide information. The suspect refused to identify himself, and turned to go inside a home. After a brief physical struggle, the suspect was arrested and identified. The suspect had a Probation Violation warrant out of Pettis County for Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Eric B. Fisk, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Fisk was booked on his warrant and placed on a 24 hour hold for Resisting Arrest. Bond was set at $2,000 cash only and $2,500 surety.

Sunday afternoon, Officers were conducting a follow up investigation near the intersection of East 4th Street and South Summit Avenue. A computer check of the subject showed they had an active warrant from Miller County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Assault in the 4th Degree, Trespassing in the 1st Degree and felony Resisting Arrest (Creating a Substantial Risk of Death or Injury). Austin David Ray Pinion, 25, Homeless, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held with no bond.

Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Moniteau Avenue Saturday morning. The driver was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Edgar Cuc Cucul, 34, of Sedalia, was booked and released for Driving While Revoked.

Officers met with Nicole Williams in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft Sunday afternoon. Williams stated that someone known to her took her cell phone without permission and refuses to return it. At the time of the report. the suspect has not been contacted.

Sunday morning, Officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of East 24th Street and South Washington Avenue after recognizing its driver as being a wanted person. The warrant was issued by Johnson County on a charge of Leaving The Scene of an Accident. The warrant was confirmed, and Lyoniel Jack Meyers Jr., 68, of Sedalia, was arrested. Meyers was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where bond was set at $250 cash only.

Officers met with Gary Miller, who lives in the 1800 block of South Vermont Avenue. He reported his bicycle had been stolen sometime between October 7th and October 9th. There are no suspects.

Saturday morning, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue. Joseph E. Weller, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested for a municipal Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding and a Pettis County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Weller was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of East 7th Street and South Marvin Avenue Saturday afternoon. Crystal C. Cummins, 33, of Windsor, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Cummins was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Hospital for a report of assault that took place in the Stone Creek Apartments, 1500 Thompson Boulevard. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the victim, who stated he was assaulted by a known subject on October 6th. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Officers came to the lobby of the Police Department to meet with Jimmie Sanders, who wished to make a theft report. Sanders stated that in the early morning hours of October 7th, someone stole his bicycle.

A truck was stopped in the area of North Grand Avenue and West Henry Street Saturday night for failing to maintain the right half of the roadway and disobeying a stop sign. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Mayra Alejo Cano, 20, of Waterloo Iowa, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Cano was transported to the Sedalia Police Department for processing, and then to the Pettis County Jail, pending release to a sober person.

Early Saturday morning, Officers observed a tan SUV travelling westbound on East Broadway Boulevard in the turn lane. The vehicle also was not displaying a rear registration plate. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at West Broadway Boulevard and South Center Avenue. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Justin Daniels Casdorph, 35, of Sedalia, was then arrested, and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Casdorph was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for Driving While Intoxicated, given a court date, and released.

A car was stopped in the area of East 15th Street and South New York Avenue early Saturday morning. The vehicle was failing to maintain the right half of the roadway, and failed to stop at a stop sign. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated by drugs. Keyara Cheyenne Jamison, 18, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Jamison was taken to a hospital, then the jail, and booked in on a state charge of DWI.

Friday night, a car was stopped in the area of West 24th Street and Clinton Road for driving without tail lights. It failed to yield for almost a minute before stopping. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Luis A. Polito Seba, 21, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Seba was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, processed and released to a sober person.

Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department Friday afternoon to take a report of child abuse. The reporting party stated her nephew and niece have been abused by their stepfather. The reporting party showed Officers several photos on her phone of bruises, bite marks, and scratches on the two juveniles. She stated those injuries came from their stepfather. A child abuse hotline report was completed.

Friday afternoon, Officers took a report at the Police Station of theft. Upon arrival, Officers met with Jaime Lee Campbell, who stated that sometime in the past week someone stole the license plates off of her vehicle in the 500 block of South Quincy Avenue. The plate will be listed as stolen.

Friday afternoon, Officers responded to the 300 block of West 4th Street in reference to a property damage incident in progress. Upon arrival, Officers found a vehicle parked in the area that had the front passenger side window destroyed. Investigation revealed that the resident of the address became upset when he found the vehicle parked, blocking his driveway. The resident chose to display his discontent by shattering the window of the vehicle. The suspect was identified, and subsequently admitted to the act. Michael Anthony Hearring, 39, of Sedalia, was issued a municipal citation for Property Damage and released from the scene.

Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of East 4th Street Friday afternoon in reference to an assault report. Halee Reid stated after a verbal dispute, the suspect assaulted them. Assault charges were referred to the prosecutor.

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a fraud report. Reva M. Woodward said her computer was taken over and she provided information to someone who said they could resolve the issue. Woodward had given the information to several of her cards before realizing the scam and ending the encounter.

Friday evening, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 700 block of North Grand Avenue in reference to a disturbance. When Officers arrived, they were met by the home owner, who said the suspect was in the garage. The garage door had been forcefully opened and was damaged. Officers made contact with the subject in the garage, and a victim who was attempting to leave. The subject wrapped his arms around the victim to prevent her from leaving. The suspect then resisted. Billy Joe Hill, 44, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold. Hill faces charges of Burglary in the 1st Degree, Property Damage in the 1st Degree, felony Resisting Arrest, and Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. While attempting to arrest Hill, the home owner approached and began striking the suspect in the face with his fist. He then attempted to run the suspect over with his motorized buggy. A request for the charges of Assault in the 4th Degree and Interfering with an Arrest have been submitted on the home owner, who was not named in the report.

Officers stopped a vehicle near East Broadway Boulevard and South New York Avenue, as the vehicle had a defective headlight early Saturday morning. The driver provided their information, and Dispatch confirmed the driver did not have a valid driver's license. Fernando Mendez Jimenez, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.

On the afternoon of October 4th, Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Missouri Avenue for a report of burglary. Contact was made with Steven Wayne Rhoads, who reported that he had come home from work to find that his back door had been forced open, and several of his firearms were stolen.

Saturday afternoon, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Contact as made with the male driver, who was discovered to be a fugitive from justice in the state of Texas. Sami A. Youssouf, 36, of Los Angeles Ca, was arrested on charges of Fugitive From Justice and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
