Sedalia Police Reports For September 23, 2022

Wednesday evening, Sedalia Police responded to an injury accident on Thompson Boulevard near West 10th Street. A preliminary investigation revealed a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by Carlos Lopez, entered onto Thompson Boulevard to make a northbound turn from a private drive. The pickup drove into the path of a 2009 Harley Davidson Night Train that was travelling southbound on Thompson Boulevard. The driver of the Harley Davidson was identified as Treigh Wilborn. Wilborn sustained serious injuries from the impact and was transported from the scene by ambulance. The pickup had damage to the left rear side. The motorcycle had extensive damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Officers stopped a car in the area of South State Fair Boulevard and West 16th Street early Friday morning. The vehicle had failed to stop at the stop line prior to a stop sign, had improperly turned twice, and did not dim its headlights. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Daniel Farrel Rose, 46, of La Monte, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Rose was taken to the Police Department, processed, and released to a sober person with a court date.

Thursday night, a vehicle was stopped near the Dollar General store, 2500 West Broadway Boulevard, for an investigation into a suspended driver. The driver was the suspect, and was placed under arrest for a felony charge of Driving While Suspended. Guy Richard Fehr Jr., 41, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, and two counts of No Child Restraint for the two children in the car. Fehr was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold. The passenger, Elizabeth A. Davis, 36, of Sedalia, had a warrant out of Pettis County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Stealing. Davis was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $1500 cash or surety bond.

Late Thursday night, Officers made contact with a subject who appeared to be avoiding Officers in the area of East 3rd Street and South Ohio Avenue. A warrant check revealed that she had a Parole Violation warrant on original charges of Resisting Arrest By Fleeing (Creating a Substantial Risk) and a Failure to Appear warrant for Non Compliance With An Order of Protection (Elderly Abuse). Candice Ann Wagenknecht, 40, of Smithton, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Sedalia Police responded to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Boulevard, for a warrant check Thursday afternoon. On arrival, Officers met with the subject, Brandon James Miller, 40, of Sedalia. A computer check with Dispatch confirmed him to have seven Pettis County Warrants. Miller had a warrant for Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Stealing, a Probation Violation warrant for felony Stealing, and Stealing Repeat Offender (4th or more Subsequent Offense in 10 years), multiple misdemeanor Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Stealing, and misdemeanor Failure to Appear traffic warrants on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Total bond was set at $129,500 cash or surety, with the Probation and Parole warrant carrying no bond. Miller was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Thursday night, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at West Main Street and South Osage Avenue for two traffic violations. The operator was contacted, identified, and a records check revealed she had an active arrest warrant from Pettis County. Tiffany M. Morrill, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested for her Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Miller was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash bond of $250.00.

Thursday night, Officers were dispatched to a theft report in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue. Officers made contact with a juvenile, who reported items had been taken out of his unlocked Chevrolet S-10 earlier that night. Multiple items including a backpack with a Chromebook inside, and a knife were reported stolen from the truck. The suspects also punched the ignition in an attempt to steal the truck. They were not successful, and caused damage to the truck, disabling it.

Sedalia Police responded to Greg's Auto Sales, 632 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a possible burglary Wednesday morning. It was discovered the business was broken into while the owner was away. Items were taken from the building, as well as a vehicle stolen off the lot. The total value of the items taken was estimated at approximately $4,810. The suspect has not been identified at this time.

Officers performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration Thursday morning in the area of East 9th Street and Crescent Drive. A computer check showed the driver's license was revoked. Keith E. Cook, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
