Sedalia Police Reports For September 27, 2021

Sunday night, Sedalia Police observed an individual known to have a revoked driving status. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle on West Broadway Boulevard and South Missouri Avenue. When Officers made contact with the driver, she acknowledged that she had a revoked driver's license. There was an overwhelming smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle as well. Officers also detected the odor of intoxicants on the driver's breath. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that not only did the driver have her license revoked, but she also had two Failure to Appear warrants from Pettis County. The driver was determined to be intoxicated. Destiny Nicole Archambault, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested and consented to a blood draw. Archambault was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked on her warrants for Failure to Appear on original charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of Marijuana, and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. Bond was set at $669 cash only. Additional charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Revoked have been submitted to the prosecutor.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle without license plates Sunday evening in the area of South Grand Avenue and West 32nd Street. The driver of the vehicle was driving on a revoked driver's license. Alla Mishchuk, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended, No Proof of Insurance, and Failure to Properly Display License Plates.

Early Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Moniteau in reference to a harassment complaint. When Officers arrived, they spoke to the caller, who stated a former employee had called her multiple times and threatened to burn her house down with her and her kids in it. The suspect was later located and arrested. William Isaac Howe, 35 of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Harassment to Frighten or Disturb Another Person and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Officers were dispatched to the Sedalia Crossing shopping center, 3040 West Broadway Boulevard Sunday evening for a report of found property. Officer spoke with Amos Preece, who found a black tote bag with miscellaneous property inside of it. The items have been placed into evidence for safe keeping.

Sunday evening, Officers responded to the 500 block of East 5th Street in reference to a theft. The victim stated her phone was stolen, and tracked it to a residence. Officers made contact with the resident, who consented to search the house for the phone. The phone was not located at this time. The phone is valued at $1000.

Sedalia Police observed a vehicle that appeared to be driving into the oncoming lanes of West 16th Street Sunday morning. The vehicle then drifted back into its lane and continued driving within 18 inches of the curb at a low rate of speed. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at West 16th Street and South Beacon Avenue. When Officers made contact with the driver, they detected the strong odor of intoxicants on his breath. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Jesse D. Wakefield, 42, of Marshall, was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC at 0.141. Wakefield was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for Driving While Intoxicated with a court date. Wakefield was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold.

Sunday afternoon, Officers responded to the 1200 block of East 13th Street in reference to found property. Upon arrival, Officers met with a resident of the area who wanted to be anonymous. They handed over a Missouri ID they had found lying in a nearby yard. Officers attempted to contact the owner of the ID, but were not successful. It was placed into evidence.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of South Grand Avenue Sunday afternoon. An unknown subject left a jacket and an approximately two foot tall anthropomorphic mouse statue on the complainant's front porch. The jacket was discovered to have been taken during another theft case that morning and was returned to its owner in the 2700 block of South Grand Avenue. The mouse statue was secured in evidence.

Sunday morning, Officers responded to the Shell Station, 1722 West Broadway Boulevard, for a theft report. The report was handled over the phone and the information was documented.

Friday evening, Officers conducted a vehicle stop at East 12th Street and South Engineer Avenue. The occupants were identified and their information was run through Dispatch. The passenger was confirmed to have a parole violation warrant. Amy Hilton, 37, of Pilot Grove, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked on the warrant with no bond.

Officers responded to the 1100 block of West 11th Street Saturday night for a report of a disturbance. When Officers arrived, the male suspect had already left the scene. The male suspect is a juvenile. The juvenile has been entered as a missing person in NCIC.

Saturday night, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of West 4th Street for a reported found property incident. The property was a pink and purple Huffy bicycle. The property was entered into evidence for safe keeping until an owner can claim the property.

Saturday morning, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard when they noticed it had no license plates. A computer check showed the driver did not have a valid driver's license. While being taken into custody, the driver resisted arrest. Cody Jay Hicks, 31, Homeless, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License and Resisting Arrest.

Officers were dispatched to a call in the 1200 block of East 12th Street late Saturday night. A caller called requested an ambulance, and then hung up with no further information given. Upon arrival, Officers located the subject, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated, laying in the bushes of a nearby residence. Officers requested medical for treatment, but the subject refused treatment and began walking through yards to get away from Officers. The subject then stepped out onto South Engineer Avenue in front of a car. When being told he was under arrest, the subject resisted officers, trying to pull away and get away from them. Anthony J. Skutnick Jr., 31, of Sedalia, was taken into custody without further incident and taken to the BRHC to be checked out. Skutnick was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold. Charges are being requested for Trespassing and Resisting Arrest.

Saturday afternoon, an Officer made contact with Marta Rubio who wished to make a forgery report from Central Bank, 301 West Broadway Boulevard. The information was gathered and a report was taken.

An Officer initiated a traffic stop on a car near West Main Street and North Quincy Avenue for expired registration Saturday afternoon. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license was suspended out of Missouri. Jessica Ann Taylor, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Police Department. Taylor was released with a city ticket for Driving While Suspended.

Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to a home in the 1600 block of South Brown Avenue for a reported domestic disturbance. The caller reported that her 12 year old son was beyond her control and had assaulted her and another member of the home. The 12 year old was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a car for not having a rear license plate and for failing to use its turn signal Saturday morning. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license was suspended. The suspect fled on foot from Officers. He was apprehended and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Darnell Johnson, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Driving While Suspended, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Resisting Arrest.

Friday night, Officers were dispatched to a field fire near the Budweiser Plant, 1800 Eagleview Drive. After investigation, it's believed that the fire started under suspicious circumstances and is under investigation.

Friday morning, Officers responded to the Hampton Inn, 3909 West 9th Street, for possible found drugs. The substance was collected and a state charge of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia were later submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office. There was no further information in the report.

An Officer responded to the Econolodge, 3501 West Broadway Boulevard, for a theft report Friday afternoon. Contact was made with the victims, and they reported multiple items being stolen out of their vehicle while it was parked at the hotel. A theft report was taken.

Friday morning, Officer met with Jo Boger in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft. Boger explained that she had attempted to rent a property in Sedalia that was listed in Facebook marketplace. The property listing was fraudulent, and the suspect who created it was able to scam $400 from Boger as a deposit. Further investigation revealed the suspect also altered Google search results to further their credibility. The incident appears to be an elaborate scam.

Friday morning, Officers took a report regard theft of credit card information in the 300 block of McAnally Court. April Johnson completed a written statement and wished to pursue charges.

On the afternoon of September 21st, Officers responded to an injury accident at the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Engineer Avenue. A computer check of one of the drivers showed their license was revoked out of the State of Missouri. Rodriquez AR Davis, 42, of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Driving While Revoked and released with a court date.

An Officer was dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department last Wednesday afternoon in reference to a harassment report. Paige Dixon said the suspect had called them over 40 times in the span of about 2 hours, after being told not to call them anymore. Charges of Harassment in the 1st Degree are being submitted to the state prosecutor.

Last Thursday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South State Fair Boulevard in reference to a domestic disturbance. Contact was made with both suspects, who admitted to being involved in a physical altercation. The suspects were related, but only one resided at the residence. Both suspects had minor injuries and neither wished to assist in prosecution. The primary physical aggressor could not be determined. Both parties were advised that a 12 hour log would be completed. The parties agreed to separate to minimize the chances of being involved in another altercation.

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Woods Supermarket, 701 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a forgery report. Employees of the business said a woman attempted to purchase items using a counterfeit $100 bill. The woman fled prior to law enforcement's arrival upon being confronted about the bill.

Early Saturday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Officers observed driving in the turn lane, going south on Thompson Boulevard. When Officers made contact with the driver, the odor of intoxicants was present on the driver's breath. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Maggie A. Roberts, 31, of Knob Noster, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. While there, Roberts provided a breath sample that showed her BAC above 0.08. Roberts was issued a citation for Driving While Intoxicated and released to a sober driver.
