Early Wednesday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop near West 9th Street and South Grand Avenue. During the traffic stop, a passenger inside the vehicle was found to have a Failure to Appear warrant out of Johnson County. The warrant was confirmed, and the suspect was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Joseph Carl Wehlermann, 32, of Sedalia, was booked on his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Assault in the 4th Degree and Resisting Arrest.


 

Sedalia Police observed a blue vehicle travelling southbound on Thompson Boulevard Tuesday night that failed to stop at a red light. Officers conducted a vehicle stop and located illegal drugs in the vehicle. Jeremy W. Birch, 20, of Sedalia, was issued a city summons for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released.


 

On the evening of August 29th, Officers responded to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a trespassing report. Laurie Carroll reported that a male subject exited the building with various items without paying. Officers made contact with the male subject and issued him a written trespass from the store. The items taken were recovered.


 

Tuesday evening, Officers conducted an investigative stop on a vehicle in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South New York Avenue. The driver was found to have two Failure to Appear warrants for their arrest on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License. Jasmine Hernandez, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked on the warrant and given a bond of $102 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police and a Missouri Highway Patrolman conducted a subject check in regards to an investigation of another incident near the intersection of South State Fair Boulevard and West 4th Street Monday afternoon. The subject was found to be in possession of marijuana, cigarettes, and a vape pen. The subject resisted arrest but was detained. The subject was identified as a juvenile and was released to a parent with a juvenile referral being submitted to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.


 

Tuesday morning, an Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of East 3rd Street in reference to a found property call. The caller stated a bicycle was found in the alley Sunday morning and had been there ever since. The bike was collected and entered into evidence for safe keeping.


 

Sedalia Police saw a vehicle driving near the intersection of East 16th Street and South Washington Avenue Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle had no front plate and began driving erratically to avoid Officers before it could be stopped. The vehicle didn't stop and was not located afterwards. A report was completed to document the incident.


 

Tuesday afternoon, an Officer responded to the lobby of the Police Department for a report of a missing person. Austin J. Roerdanz, the father of the missing person, reported that his son jumped out of his vehicle near West Broadway and South Limit on September 3rd. Neither Roerdanz or any one else he contacted had seen the son since he jumped out of the car. A missing persons report was completed.


 

On the afternoon of September 1st, Officers responded to the 400 block of East 6th Street for a report of an assault. Contact was made with Christin R. Daniels, who claimed she was assaulted by another female subject.


 

Officers responded to the Dollar General store, 713 East Broadway Boulevard on the afternoon of September 1st for a report of a theft. Contact was made with Heather Viles who reported that one of her employees had been stealing money from the store. Angela Dawn Reyes, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested for Stealing and placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the JC Penney store, 3159 West Broadway Boulevard Tuesday afternoon in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officers met with the victim, who stated he parked his 2005 Ford F250 in the lot the evening before. When he returned to the lot, the vehicle was missing, presumably stolen. The vehicle has been entered as stolen and has not been recovered at the time of the report.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers responded to MFA Agri Services, 2200 Clinton Road, in reference to found property. Management had located two prepaid debit cards and one Missouri driver's license on their property. Attempts to reach the owners of the three items were unsuccessful. The items were placed into evidence for safekeeping.
