The Sedalia Rotary Club will host their 42nd Annual Rotary Benefit Auction this Friday at the Sedalia Best Western hotel.

Sedalia Rotary Club members are hoping to raise $20,000 at the event. The Friday auction is the biggest one the club holds throughout the year.

One of the auction’s main attractions will be a hog, donated by Bacon Acres Ranch.

According to a press release from the Sedalia Rotary, half of the hog will be auctioned off, and the other half raffled, with the raffle winner announced during the auction.

Also new to this year’s auction is a $500-cash door prize.

The club will have 45 items to bid on for the live auction.

One of the featured auction items will be a 2007 Ford Focus, donated by Rick Ball Ford.

“The Annual Rotary Auction helps support many organizations that are in need of funding to help finish a project.” said Amanda May, vice president of the Sedalia Rotary. “We work hand-in-hand with these organizations to make sure the money raised goes to where it is needed. We look at many organizations throughout the year.”

Some of the organizations that are supported by the Sedalia Rotary Club include; the Rose Noland Library, C.A.C.T.U.S., Boys and Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, the Pettis County Juvenile Office, CASA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, The Women’s House, Food Bank of West Central Missouri, and the Children’s Therapy Center. The Sedalia group also provides scholarships to local high school seniors.

Tickets for the Sedalia Rotary Benefit Auction are $10 each, and can be purchased from any Rotary Club member. Tickets can also be purchased by calling or texting, 660-221-5714. Tickets will be available at the door, as well.

The doors open at 5:30 Friday evening (Apr 28), with the live auction starting at 7:00.
