Sedalia ‘Shop With Cop’ Cancelled This Year

The Sedalia Police Department has issued a press release announcing the Shop With A Cop event is cancelled for this year.

The event that Officers typically get involved with in the community and use as "Shop With A Cop" has been cancelled this year in an effort to take the proper precautions related to the Covid pandemic.  However, SPD does understand the need for the community to pull together and help those in need during the holiday season, especially this year.

That's why members of the Sedalia Police Department, Sedalia Fire Department, FOP Mid-MO Lodge 16 and Sedalia Firefighters Local 103 have decided to jump in and help with the Pettis County Community Santa Program.  The funds raised through the SPD vs SFD Mustache Competition are all being donated to Community Santa.  In addition, the funds typically set aside for "Shop With A Cop" will be donated to Community Santa.

While we may not get to go shopping with the families and kids this year like we normally do through "Shop With A Cop", we look forward to helping Community Santa with monetary donations and handing out gifts to families to make sure they have the Christmas they deserve!

Anyone who typically gets involved or donates to help put on "Shop With a Cop" is encouraged to donate to Community Santa through the SPD vs SFD Mustache Competition or to contact Sandy Goff at 660-827-7823.  Details regarding the Mustache Competition will be put out in the coming days as the competition kicks off next week.
