This weekend's ice storm left many in Sedalia with storm debris they'll need to get rid of. Mainly tree limbs and branches that fell from trees during the storm. Because of this the City of Sedalia has scheduled storm debris pick up dates.

Sedalia residents may take tree debris and vegetation to Sedalia's Materials Management Site, located at 27882 Highway U. The site is open from 7:00AM - 5:30PM CST Monday - Sunday, except for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 18.

If you can't transport this debris to the Materials Management Site the City is asking residents to move tree limbs and vegetative debris to the area between the sidewalk and the curb for pick up by City crews. The City will be picking up tree limbs and vegetative debris on Monday's through January 25. Since Monday January 18 is a holiday, that week pick up will be on Tuesday January 19. Residents east of Ohio had debris pick up yesterday and this will occur again on Tuesday the 19. Residents west of Ohio on January 11 and January 25.

The City of Sedalia reminds residents to be safe while clearing their yards of tree debris. The City says residents should make sure there are no downed power or cable lines running through the downed tree limbs or branches. And residents should make sure that accumulated ice has fallen from trees before they work in their yard to avoid any injury to themselves.

Residents are welcome to contact Sedalia's Public Works Department if they have any questions about storm debris pick-up. Their number is 660-827-3000 ext. 1166.
