A Sedalia woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday morning in Boone County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 2018 Chevy Equinox driven by 31-year-old Staci Petersen of Sedalia, passed a westbound 2018 Ford F-150 driven by 36-year-old Jonathan J. Bond of Cedar City, Utah, on I-70 at the 115 mile marker at 8:59 a.m., and the Equinox slid off the roadway, struck a barrier, returned to the roadway and struck the Ford. The Equinox then exited the roadway again and struck another barrier.

Petersen suffered moderate injuries and was transported to MU Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Petersen was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Bond was reportedly uninjured. He was wearing a seat belt.

The Ford had minor damage, while the Chevy had extensive damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
