Say it isn't so, Punxsutawney Phil!

According to Dave Clippert, Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency Director, as we warm up Monday and Tuesday, we have some risk of severe weather.

On Monday Feb 27th, according to Clippert, "There's a marginal risk for severe weather. Primary risk is for small hail, maybe some gusty winds. We are not expecting anything damaging with this tonight. Time frame is as early as 7:00 pm, possibly into Tuesday morning. If outside Monday evening, just keep an eye on the weather. Hopefully we get rain with this."

Then on Tuesday Feb 28th, Clippert states "There's a slight risk for severe weather. Tuesday evening is a higher risk than Monday. The main concern is for damaging winds and large hail. Pettis is right on the edge of this system, so we will just have to wait and see what we get. At the moment neither day has a tornado risk associated with it. The time frame is around 7:00 pm Tuesday night, into Wednesday morning. Keep an eye on the sky if you are outdoors on Tuesday."

There's a possibility for issuance of a Severe Thunderstorm Watches and possibly a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in or near Pettis County Monday and/or Tuesday.

Some of the actions you should take on either day in case of impending weather include moving inside and staying away from windows as best you can. Tuesday is the main concern with the possibility of high winds. If driving use caution and be prepared for gusty winds and possibly high water over the roads.
