The State Fair Community College Athletic Department held the 11th annual SFCC Golf Tournament benefiting athletic scholarships on Monday, July 25 at the Sedalia Country Club, in which 89 teams participated.

The silent and live auctions combined raised a total of around $20,000.

“The tournament is an asset to all our athletic programs,” said Lady Roadrunners Softball Head Coach Lyndsey Talbot. “We use the funds that the softball program raises from the event on scholarships for our local student-athletes. We also have used some of the funds to reward returning sophomores who have excelled academically or athletically.

The tournament was divided into four flights. The Championship Flight was won by the team of Mark Carey, Steve Carey, and Dillon Brasher.

The A Flight was won by the team of Mark Wheeler, Chip Thompson, and Jeff Tennison.

The B Flight was won by the team of Darren Pannier, Pat Reardon, and Alan Quattlebaum.

The C Flight was won by the team of John Allen, Misty Allen, and Eunice Guier.

The SFCC athletic department would like to thank all the sponsors, who made the event possible. The title sponsors for the event were; W-K Chevrolet Buick GMC, McDonald’s, and Tyson. Putting Clock sponsors included; Parkhurst Manufacturing, Kehde’s Barbecue, Colton’s Steakhouse and Grill, and Jones Bros Agri Service.
