The City of Sedalia is inviting all residents to Sedalia’s Small Business Saturday on November 30.

Small Business Saturday is described as a nation-wide event sponsored by American Express to encourage purchasing holiday gifts locally to not only support local businesses, but to stimulate the local economy at large.

The City of Sedalia says its sponsoring its own city-wide event in an effort to help increase visits to local businesses, and to demonstrate how the city can meet holiday shopping needs.

To help encourage residents, the City of Sedalia is now handing out Sedalia Bucks at the municipal building, located at 200 S. Osage Ave.

Sedalia Bucks can be redeemed at participating vendors throughout the city on November 30, for individualized discounts set by merchants.

Present the Sedalia Buck to a clerk and receive special offers for the day. Make sure you hang onto your buck, as merchants will not be collecting them so you can keep shopping!

Be sure to document your experience by using #SedaliaShopLocal on social media posts.

Doing so will allow you to be entered in a chance to win a 1-night stay in the Platinum Suite at Hotel Bothwell, a bottle of wine, courtesy of the Oak Room Lounge, and a $25.00 Gift Certificate to the Ivory Grille.

For more information about Sedalia Bucks, call City Hall at 827-3000, and ask for Raeanne Spears.
