Smith-Cotton JROTC Drill Meet this Saturday
The Smith-Cotton High School JROTC program will hold its drill meet this Saturday (March 23) at the high school.
The drill meet events start at 8:30 a.m. and will end with the awards ceremony around 2:00 p.m.
Sedalia 200 says nine teams will be competing from several states, and the event will include color guard, unarmed exhibition, armed exhibition and team inspection competitions. S-C JROTC Senior Army Instructor LTC (Ret.) Harry Cunningham said, “This is a great way for the community to see the different teams perform from different schools throughout Missouri and the surrounding states.”
Admission is free of charge, and concessions will be available with proceeds supporting S-C JROTC.
There also will be more than 80 silent auction items available for bidding, with winners announced during the awards ceremony.
The drill meet had originally been scheduled in February but was postponed due to inclement weather.
